About Celtic Park
Not many stadiums you know in Europe that has a long and rich history like the Celtic Park. The football stadium is located in the Parkhead area of Glasgow, Scotland. First opened in the year 1892, the stadium has undergone several renovations providing state of the art facilities and taking the seating capacity to accommodate close to 61,000. Home to the Celtic Football Club (Scottish Premiership), the stadium was the venue that hosted the opening of the 2014 Commonwealth Games. Also known as Parkhead, the venue is used for concerts and entertainment events as well.
The second largest stadium in Scotland is located just 3km from the city centre and is easily accessible through public transportation. You can take a cab, bus or train (ScotRail). If travelling by train, the Glasgow Central Station has direct stop at Celtic Park with a distance of just 4km. You also have a bus stop just 1 mile away from the stadium. As for parking, you have very limited options and on event days it will be fully packed. There are a number of parking garages around the stadium.
Know the ongoing and upcoming matches or events on the official website. There are maps published online to guide with stadium seating, parking, entrances, lifts and hospitality areas. Tickets for football matches can be enquired directly with the club. You can book online or register your interest for season ticket to never miss a match. For concerts and events, you can check the official ticketing retailer. For queries, you can also approach the Ticket Office. The ticket counter opens between the hours of 11am and 2pm, Monday to Friday. Note that the Celtic Park has a small bags policy. You will not be allowed entry if you carry large bags.
