Bought groceries at the Gamble Carrs today and the person working checkout was James. Haven’t seen him before as I’ve been ordering my groceries with the app for the last several months. By far the worst customer service I’ve ever experienced at your stores. It seems like he was on opiates or something. I’ve seen anyone move so slowly or such a lack of customer service. You couldn’t even understand anything he said because it was just mumbling. The service at that store has always been great in the past. This guy needs to be trained or replaced.
I shop at two Carrโs stores. The one on Abbott and the one on W Dimond. Over all they are decent stores. But one sore spot is the deli and hot case. Both my wife and I worked for Carrโs years ago and we would have been fired if we worked and had a bad looking hot case like Iโve seen lately. The only time you can get decent food is if you go and get there before noon. After 3pm the hot case goes to hell fast. An example would be like today. I went to the W Dimond store and there was 8 people standing in front of the hot case looking for food to take home for dinner like me. The food that was in it was either not enough to serve a child and / or it had been in there so long that the food was burnt. The one fresh food that was brought out was fried chicken and that went fast since it was the only thing that was fresh. If Carrโs does not want to serve people for any kind of โdinnerโ service, then they need to put a sign that says the hot case is closed by 4pm. Iโm my opinion they are losing a LOT of money by not stocking the hot case for when people want to take hot food home after a long day at work.
Palmer Carrโs overcharges repeatedly and I wish someone would address it! I feel it is getting hidden under the rug.
I have shopped at Carrs Huffman (store 1813) for over 30 years. Some products are now poorly stocked, apparently due to supply chain problems.
One of my favorite products is WHEAT THINS MULTIGRAIN (Nabisco/Mondelez). Several other flavors of Wheat Thins are stocked in the Crackers section, in 8.5-oz boxes (and a few flavors also in Large). For years, Multigrain was among them– but rarely in the past 2 years. One shipment of Multigrain apparently arrived last year and was on the shelf for a few weeks. But then nothing again, for weeks now.
