Yesterday, I was in your Ross Park Mall (PA) store, and purchased a Burberry tie ($190).
As the salesperson was placing it in a box, she quickly removed a dustcover; I asked, politely, if I could have it, and she said “no,” that it is reserved for wallet purchases. I happened to be holding a Burberry wallet that my son purchased one year ago, at the same Burberry store, as a gift for me, and I stated that I did not receive a dust cover (I assume that one was not offered to my 16 year old son at the time). I asked, again, if I could have one, and the salesperson stated, again, that she, definitely, could not give me one.
I asked to speak to a manager, and a manager came and told me that the dust covers are reserved for wallets, only. I, then, said that I just spent $190, and my son purchased a Burberry wallet a year ago (she can look it up in their records)., and that I did not appreciate the treatment I was receiving from them.
After some words, the manager gave me a dust cover for my wallet, in hand.
I really do expect better customer service from Burberry associates. I have received better service from WalMart. This is one of the reasons that I have chosen to purchase Burberry items from Nordstrom’s, rather than the Burberry store at the mall.
