I just finished shopping at my local Banana Republic store. I bought 1 pair of earrings. I used to love the fabrics and clothes designs. Now I find the stuff cheap, too thin (sweaters, particularly) and generally unappealing. I like straight leg pants. Skinny jeans look good on skinny people of which there are damn few in this country. You used to have straight jeans. NO MORE. I went to a food shop nearby. There were 2 young men there who were fit and hip. They agreed that the clothes now were not well made, stretched out, wore out and were “crap.” A young woman I know also agreed, saying that she hated shopping now because the tops didn’t
fit and were too clingy. I recently went to Montreal where I spent about 1/2 hour in a store, found 2 stylish well-made pants out of good cotton, made in Italy, for $50. They do not cling, they do not wrinkle in back of my knees and they look great. When are you going to realize that there is no excuse for bad quality. You can try to maximize profit by cutting corners but you are losing customers!
