Al Bayt Stadium in Qatar opened recently, in 2020, well in time for the 2022 FIFA World Cup. The football stadium is located at Al Khor, which is about 50kms from the capital Doha. Come 2022, the stadium is going to be all over the press as it hosts the opening ceremony of the World Cup. The design, built in the shape of an Arabian desert tent, is inspired by the bayt al sha’ar, which are tents used by nomadic peoples in Qatar.
