Writing this complaint in regards to Ace rental car location located in Charlotte, Nc Wilkerson Location. This rental car location is the most unprofessional, establishment I’ve ever encountered. My cars have both been visibly damaged, the wait is outrageous, with the exception of Ms Kaja, the staff is unknowledgeable, and rude. I work from home from 9-6, and caring for my mom whom have cancer, and terminally ill. My time schedule is very condensed, so haven’t been able to purchase my new car. That’s the only reason for renting, and extending, due to a very unpredictable schedule. This employee Tawanda is unethical, unprofessional, irrational, and have zero customer service professionalism. When I spend my money at a establishment, I expect to be treated with respect. Whether that’s a $99.00 a day charge, or a Priceline $ 19.00 a day charge. I have spent several hundreds of dollars with this organization. I will return my vehicle today, and will Never rent from this organization again.
The man who helped us was nice however when I was speaking to the representative, he failed to mention anything about gas. They didn’t have options for prepaying for the gas, no sign, and current prices (nor did they offer or say anything.) I also read the rental agreement and it mentions NOTHING about gas. Well, they charged me $9.99 a GALLON which resulted in an additional $121 charge. In addition, I now have another additional $200 charge for no reason.
I do not recommend the Ace office in Puerto Rico to anyone. I did my reservation on the phone and was given a price and when we arrived at the office I was charged another price that was not agreed too. I asked for a 5 people car and I was given a compact car that even though they say 5 people fit, it does not fit 5 people, plus the car had problems. The brakes were squawking and it felt like if it was gonna brake down. I went to change it and they tried so hard not to change it but they ended up changing it to a same car but different color. I tried adding one more day, the first day I added , everything went fine, but when I added another day, they took it out from my deposit without my permission nor telling me, and now if I want to add one more day again I have to pay the day Im adding and the day they took out of my deposit. They want me to pay twice for a day that was already paid from the deposit. They are stealing from their customers in a simple way and they are a rip off.
On 10/16 I rented a vehicle. A Toyota was provided to me that had clearly been in an accident. (I have never ever ever ever rented a vehicle and was provided a car that had major body damage …. Why hasn’t the car been repaired yet & why are you still renting it out? It had roughly 60k miles on it so it was fairly new ) they told me I would be okay with a paper report they told me to do. I would NOT be responsible. Well of course I was charge $1,260.76 for the damages. After I was told it was my fault because I was supposed to take pictures and videos as the customer, that was not their responsibility… I was finally credited back only $800. Well here we are today I am still fighting for the remaining of my money back. Oh and check this out , I even spoke with a front desk agent who agreed that my charges were incorrect but said no manager was on site and he couldn’t grant my refund I had to call back to speak with the manager. Well I have called and called and called and ironically there is never a manger on site. This is highway robbery. They wanted my insurance information to file a claim for the damages. An audit should be done on the companies books because these people are stealing money. They charged me $119.10 for an airport access fee that is supposed to be 11.11% of the $250 charge in responsible for and $69.69 for florida sales tax on a $250 charge at a 6.5% rate. Florida sales tax is 6%. And I can’t get my money back and corporate transferred me back to the store location automated system. Absolutely disgusting !
I reserved a van online through Priceline on Monday 5/3/21. Received confirmation by email & called the day before. Just to be told on Saturday morning (the day of our trip) that I would not be getting a vehicle. I was told I was at the top of the list but could not get a vehicle, they were going to give the 3 vans they had with no A/C to the people who had reserved way in advance. They need to have better communication skills with the customer & get their shit together. How do they let customers make reservations if they don’t have vehicles to give or in working conditions. They should have called me if I was at the top of the list to advise me I needed to look elsewhere because I would not be getting a vehicle. Instead they make you drive all the way down there to be told on the day of your trip that they don’t have a vehicle for you. I needed that van for 11 people. We were unable to find a van elsewhere at the last minute. Our plans were ruined thanks to this company.
I have rental from ace rental car, but never received the documents for my rental car. I have called and spoke to Matt in customer service. I informed Matt that I di did not received email. My email was not reported on the car rental documents and there was different email . My personal information was sent to someone else, and still I have not received any documents regarding my rental. I was told that I will receive call from manager regarding my personal information, but I haven’t received any information or call from ace car rental manager.
Dear Sirs: I must comment on Ace rentals.I do not travel much. My son who lives in Green Cove Springs had a tramatic Brain Injury.I flew into Jax international airport, took a shuttle to ace,and had not done that before either.I called the # the Ace office told me where to stand, not only was the shuttle man very kind, helped me in and out.I went into office where I spoke to Dave Cook. He saw i was confused, took time to explain the contract, gave me his card and cell Phone # in case i needed anything.I want to Tell Corporate what a great person is on their staff, THANK YOU MR COOK, for your patience and kindness, not only Dave but all the office staff.They are a wonderful bunch.Yolanda Taylor
