About TRICARE
TRICARE is a health care program of the United States Department of Defense Military Health System. Managed by TRICARE Management Activity (TMA), the program serves active duty service members, National Guard and Reserve members, retirees and their families with its affordable health coverage, pharmacy benefit, dental options and other special programs. Only those registered in the Defense Enrollment Eligibility Reporting System can be eligible for the program. Currently TRICARE serves some 9.6 million beneficiaries across the world.
