Known for its world-class amenities and excellent customer service, Hilton Hotels & Resorts has been a juggernaut in the hospitality market for decades. Since its establishment in 1919, the company has quickly grown from strength to strength, becoming one of the leading hotel chains in the United States. Today, Hilton’s existence spreads across 122 countries and over 6,900 properties for customers to check in and stay at. The company’s in-house brands also offer a wide range of accommodation options to suit every taste and budget – from the budget-friendly Hampton Inn to the exquisite Waldorf Astoria.

In addition to offering superior hospitality services, Hilton also provides an “Honors” program, where members earn points for every stay. The accumulated points can then be redeemed for room upgrades, free nights, and other beneficial rewards. As of today, Hilton Honors is the largest hotel loyalty program in the world, featuring more than 115 million users.

With that being said, there are times when your account does not reflect the points you earn for completed stays. Thankfully, Hilton has a straightforward claims process that you can utilize to ensure that the money you spend does not go to waste. To learn more, continue reading our in-depth guide.

How to Claim Points Online

According to Hilton Honors, the time of delay for the reward points to be credited to your account depends upon your place of stay. In North America, members must allow at least five business days after checking out of hotels for the requisite reward points to be credited to their account.

On the other hand, members living outside of North America must allow at least two weeks for the reward points to be credited to their accounts. In any case, if the reward points do not get credited within the aforementioned timeline, then members can apply for the missing stay.

Additionally, it should be known that you have to be a member of the Hilton Honors program for at least 12 months to be eligible to earn points for past stays within the year. To start the claims process right away, follow the recommended steps mentioned below.

  1. Begin your journey by heading over to the official website here.
  2. The first step involves signing into your Hilton Honors account via your registered username and password.
  3. Once logged in, head over to the web page for the “Missing Stay Request Form” here.
  4. Proceed to fill out the form by providing your registered member details, such as your name, phone number, and email address. Additionally, you have to provide your hotel details, check-in/check-out information, hotel confirmation number, etc.
  5. After that, submit your form and wait for at least 7-10 business days for a follow-up message from Hilton Honors customer care support.

Besides filling up the missing stay request form, you can also send an email to priorityletter@hilton.com to learn more about missing points and/or negative balance.

Overview of Program

As mentioned previously, Hilton Honors is a loyalty program where members get reward points for completing an eligible stay at a resort or a hotel within the Hilton Portfolio, which can later be used to claim unique rewards. For every US dollar you spend on your purchase (such as your room rate and other eligible room charges), 10 base points will be credited to your account. However, there are some exceptions that you have to remember.

For instance, for every US dollar you spend at Home2 Suites by Hilton or Tru by Hilton Hotels, you will only earn 5 base points. On the other hand, bonus points are credited when you use Hilton Honors credit cards, spend on car rentals, or shop online. To learn more about Hilton reward points, you can use the Hilton Honors Points Calculator here. Additionally, Hilton Honors reward points can also be earned when you shop, travel, dine, or spend with any Hilton partner.

As you continue to book more stays and earn points, your membership tier will be upgraded over time. Currently, Hilton Honors has four different membership tiers, namely: Member, Silver, Gold, and Diamond. The below-mentioned comprehensive list will provide you with a rough conception of what you can expect from each membership tier.

Member: When you join Hilton Honors, you will immediately be provided with the member tier, providing you with benefits such as free WiFi, the ability to choose your room, exclusive member discounts, digital check-in and check-out, and no resort fees on reward stays.

Silver: Once you book 4 stays/10 nights or earn 25,000 base points within a year, you will be instantly promoted to the silver tier. Silver tier members enjoy the same benefits as the base member tier, but with 20 per cent bonus points, free water bottles at check-in, and spa discounts at all-inclusive stays.

Gold: The gold tier is unlocked when you book 20 stays/40 nights or earn 75,000 base points in a single year. With the gold tier, you can enjoy all the benefits of the silver tier, along with 80 per cent bonus points, better room upgrades, and daily food and beverage credit.

Diamond: Lastly, the diamond tier is unlocked when you book 30 stays/60 nights or earn 120,000 base points within a single year. With this tier, you get not only the benefits of the gold membership but also 100 per cent bonus points, premium WiFi, a 48-hour room guarantee, room upgrades, executive lounge access, and an additional year of diamond perks.
