It is time to fight back the pandemic that brought the world to a halt. COVID-19 has affected countries globally, and each country has made rigorous efforts to fight back. One of the most anticipated developments in the time of the pandemic is the development of a vaccine. Countries across the world have put in their time, efforts, and resources to prepare an effective formulation. The task of preparing and administering the vaccine has been nothing short of a challenge, but the success has eventually come our way. India, one of the largest vaccine manufacturers, has now started its COVID vaccination drive. The vaccination was earlier prioritized for people who are 45 years and older. But with the second wave of pandemic knocking right at the doors, the government decided to lose no time. People aged between 18 and 45 can now register themselves for a vaccine jab. People aged 18-45 will have to get registered on the CoWin portal before heading out for vaccination. Walk-ins won’t be allowed, and you will need a prior appointment, which is made available on the portal. People who are above 45 years can still go for the on-site registration to get vaccinated.
Who can go for the registration process?
If you are aged above 18, you can go for registration right now on the Aarogya Setu App and CoWin platform. The process and documents required for the inoculation will remain the same. Presently, private vaccination centers receive doses from the government and are charging Rs 250 from the people. This system will also cease to exist from 1st May 2021. Private hospitals will now be able to procure the vaccination directly from the vaccine manufacturers. As per the Liberalised Pricing and Accelerated National COVID-19 Strategy, the vaccination will now be free for the eligible population group, including frontline workers, healthcare workers, and population above 18 years of age. People can now go for the self-registration module and avail of many facilities. You can register yourself for the vaccination process, and you also have a choice of registering three additional members. You can also select the vaccination center of your convenience and the date that suits you best. If you find it impossible to go for the vaccination on a particular date, you can reschedule the vaccination date at your convenience.Â
