One of the most impressive platforms that have been a pioneer in bringing this change is Netflix. Netflix. Inc, an American technology and media service provider, founded in 1997, by Reed Hastings and Marc Randolf, is changing the means of entertainment. Currently, with a base of 58.5 million users in the United States and 78.5 million subscribers worldwide, Netflix is growing at unparalleled speed. While other streaming services are still making an effort, Netflix has long back reached the top spot and is in no mood of sharing it anytime soon. If you are new to Netflix, there are a few things that you might need help with, and this includes renewal of your existing membership or cancellation of the services, in case you are no more interested in avail the services.
Signing up & renewing Netflix subscription
To start binge-watching the best TV shows and movies, you will need a membership on Netflix. There are more than one ways to do it. You can visit Netflix from a browser, click on sign up and choose a plan that suits you. Make a payment, and you are good to go. On Android or Apple devices, you will have to download the app, use your credentials such as authentic email id and set a password. You can go ahead, choose a plan and make payment to keep streaming. Now that you are on the platform, your membership will renew automatically, after you have authenticated your payment method. If not, you can renew your subscription in a minute. Sign in to your Netflix account with your email id and password, click on your account name on the top right corner and tap ‘your account’. Under the “membership and billing’ tab, click on restart membership, if your membership is inactive. If it is active and you need to pay your monthly subscription, click on the account name and tap ‘my account’. Click on ‘manage billing info”, authenticate your payment method and make the payment for your subscription.
Cancellation of Netflix subscription
Netflix is available to the subscribers in three simple plans. Basic, Standard and premium, each costing $8.99 per month, $12.99 per month, $15.99 per month, respectively. Once you have subscribed to any of the plans, you can cancel the subscription easily. There are more than one ways to do so. The easiest is to log on to the Netflix website and click on your account name available at the top right corner of the website. The top left corner of the page will have the option of “cancel membership” under the membership and billing title. Click on it, and you are good to go. If you want to cancel the membership using your Android phone app, you need to swipe in from left, for the menu. Toggle down to settings and tap on the ‘account settings”. A browser window will open, and you will get a cancellation option right on the page. If you are an iPhone user, open the app store and scroll to the bottom and tap ‘Apple ID”. Click on “View Apple ID” and under the tab of “subscriptions”, tap manage. Click on Netflix and switch off the automatic renewal. Your Netflix membership will not renew, and the services will stop on the membership expiration date.
