istanbul metro customer serviceIstanbul Metro is the rapid transit system serving Istanbul, Turkey, and was established in the year 1989. Locally known as Istanbul Metrosu, the rapid transit operates 5 lines connecting to more than 70 stations. Annually, Istanbul Metro serves over 384 million passengers. It has a fleet of 453 vehicles. The trains operate from 6am to midnight 12am.

The metro lines consist of M1, M2, M3, M4, and the M6 Mini-Metro. The upcoming lines are M5, M8, M7 and M9. As for the network, the M1 connects from Yenikapi to Ataturk Airport, M2 from Yenikapi to Haciosman, M3 Basaksehir – Olimpiyatkoy, M4 Kadikoy – Lartal, M6 Levent-Hisarustu, T1 Kabatas – Bagcilar, T3 Kadikoy – Moda, T4 Topkapi – Mescidi Selam and F1 Taksin – Kabatas.

Regular commuters can purchase tokens or smart cards (IstanbulCard) at manned stations or through vending machines. There are special fares for students and senior citizens.
