About Turkish National Police
The Turkish National Police (TNP) is the official police force responsible for law and order in Turkey. The agency, headed by the Director General of Police and operating since 1845, is responsible to the General Directorate of Security. It operates in each province under a governor. There are currently 81 Directorates of Provincial Police and in it there are close to 834 police stations. The list includes Adana, Ankara, Balikesir, Bursa, Gaziantep, Hatay, Istanbul, Izmir, Kocaeli, Konya, Manisa, Samsun, Sanliurfa, among others.
