About Trivago
Trivago is a travel search engine founded in the year 2005. Owned and managed by Expedia, Trivago boasts of serving 55 markets and claims to have 120 million unique visitors each month. Guests using Trivago can search from 1,00,000 hotels worldwide and even compare prices of more than 250 booking sites. Partnering with over 100 hotel chains, Trivago is headquartered in Dusseldorf, Germany and employs close to 950.
Searching hotels can be done on the website or Trivago mobile app. Visitors need to input their destination and dates and the Trivago platform will provide the list of properties along with its prices. As Trivago only serves as a search engine, all reservations are independently done through a booking website. Visitors can filter their search with parameters such as stars, rating, price, landmarks, WiFi and breakfast.
You further can select the type of lodging, whether looking for resort, serviced apartment or simply Bed & Breakfast. You also can search for those offering sport facilities, wellness/spa or room facilities such as bathtub, electric kettle, refrigerator, telephone and television. The website also makes it easy for those needing wheelchair accessible locations.
Trivago’s wide network covers US, UK, Germany, Italy, Netherlands, Brazil, UAE, Canada, Australia, India, South Africa, Portugal, Singapore, Philippines, among other countries. Each hotel listed on the search results page has details of the property, reviews and the deals you can find with the leading booking sites. You will be directed to the respective booking site to confirm your booking.
If you are a hotelier, register for Trivago’s Hotel Manager. Through the service you can list your property along with competitive rates. Not only will you see an increase in revenue, you can also gather reviews and ratings to be showed on your profile. For more information or queries on new reservation, payment, refund/cancellation, or others, reach the customer service of the independent booking site. For partnership and technical support reach Trivago via phone or email.
I reserved a room at the Wingate in Arlington TX for December 28 & 29 2018. I never received an email confirmation and now I need to cancel. I have tried to find a phone number to call but no luck. i also called the Wingate and they had no record of the reservation. Please cancel the reservation. Thank you!
You should remove Otel.com from your site, I booked a hotel with them, they sent me a confirmation which didn’t look quite right so I contacted the hotel. The hotel says they have the booking as a subject to a room cancellation because they are fully booked. When I contacted Otel.com they tell me the hotel is not being truthful and took my money anyways, I know the hotel is being truthful because I know the owner. Shame that you associate with what I would call a deceitful fraudulent company
Would like to report a rip-off for Garden Inn & Suites in Pensacola Fla. Had nothing there that was posted in adds from Trivago and Garden Inn.
if your hotels are as cheap as your dumb advert I will never stay in one for gods sake be like other businesses’ and change it I am sick looking at that stupid guy please he is very annoying I don’t even read what you have to offer isee him and switch channels thx
I recently signed up for trivago price alerts, but the website is confusing. What does it mean: “My limit per night is $xx” and if necessaru, can it be changed. Also, to the far right there is an arrow with a $ amount and %. What does that mean?
We made a reservation for the Golden Sands Carolina Beach. Your website advertised it as pet friendly when I checked in and paid it was noted I had a dog in the car . I was told no pets allowed. We were able to get another room in a one star hotel not on the beach . We were only staying one night so it was an inconvenience not a catastrophe You really need to keep these situations updated or someone’s vacation could be ruined people come from all over to go this beach and there are not as many pet friendly hotels as you advertise
Caught in Hurricane Irma, in Florida, i decided to vacate Fort Lauderdale, and head for Orlando. I searched Trivago and found a suitable hotel, which I proceeded to book, and I will add pay for. Two hours later, when arrived, I recieved another email, informing me that my reservation, had been canceled, and a refund was on iits way.
The reservation was placed by some company called, cancelOn. There was absolutely not effort on their part to offer any assistance. After three hours, I finally got another hotel, miles away from my desired location.
Trivago also made no effort to help
Of course, like all sharks, they cover their rear ends, so the people they abuse have no recourse, except to let the masses know, snake oil salesman are still around.
I booked what I thought was a suite in Victoria, BC to scatter my brother-in-law’s ashes. Imagine my surprise when I arrived to find only a double room. Trivago even asked me several questions regarding the suite but apparently (according to their payment agent) there was a communication error between Trivago and the hotel! The hotel cost is C$283 and we were offered only US$30 in compensation. Definitely not acceptable!!
I really prefer the male actor who appears in Trivago commercials. The young woman is fine, but she lacks the warmth and personality of the man.
Please either keep just the lady on the commercials or ‘clean up’ that character, by shaving him and putting him in some clean looking clothes. I would not want to stay at a facility that caters to these sorts of snarky looking people.
I booked a hotel named Catembe beach lodge in Mozambique..it was supposed to be in maputo as advertised but when I checked closer to travel time it’s actually 4hrs away from maputo. This false marketing how can this happen in a site which is highly trusted. I was the first time user but no one should be exposed to false marketing. Totally unacceptable. I solely hold Trivago responsible and I will take necessary steps to ensure this doesn’t end here.
I LOVE the Trivago guy! I’d like to know why the commercials now feature an English woman! Most people associate the “Trivago guy” with your company. Send the English chick bace to England! Give me back my Trivago guy!
PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE let me know how I can stop Trivago from sending me unsolicited and unwanted emails. I receive them almost daily and although I have(successfully) clicked the ‘unsubscribe’ button more than 50 times on more than 50 different occasions, the emails keep on coming. Today, I received three identical emails.
I am finding the inability to stop these emails extremely distressing.
Yours sincerely,
Rosemary Grahame.
Dear Sir
I am from Odisha, India. The photo you advertise for “Puri” is actually of Konark temple(Largest Sun temple) at Konark. Puri & Konark are different locations in Odisha state.
So to put advertisement for hotels in Puri, Pls. put picture of “Lord Jagannath temple” which will be ideal. You can advertise Konark temple picture for hotels at “Konark” only.
Thanks
I would never trust a deceitful and slippery company like Trivago. You always list a low false price on hotels and when I click on it prices are 3 times up.
Your website is non=existent either, only refers to customer’s FB account s that you can bombard it with your ads.
You fooled me once, Shame on you!
You fooled me twice, I reject you 100%!
