I wonโt watch anymore Jays games that are streamed on Apple TV. The picture quality is poor, commentating boring, commercial breaks mind numbingly monotonous and there are too many interruptions to the game for interviews.
I have been a blue jays fan for a long time, I rarely post views but this is getting ridiculous! Last time I commented I said trade Jansen and give Espinal the time he deserves, management finally got smart and gave Espinal more playing time and look what happened, unbelievable defence, good with the bat, clutch hits and a All Star appearance WOW! We still have Jansen playing most games behind plate WAKE UP! Kirk is a far superior superior catcher again you keep playing Jansen, that really shouldnโt even be in the majors predictable behind the plate, if I can predict next call what about these pros! Most recently Jansen behind the plate for Blue Jay loses to the Twins, who with Jansen behind the plate are 4-0 with Kirk behind the plate 0-2! Thatโs 4 loses Jansen 2 wins Kirk! And who do you start today Jansen wake up! Time to take your loses and trade Jansen this off season and maybe we can grab a World Series, but as long as Hanen is behind the plate itโs not happening
Harold I makes a case for the need of Jayโs Manager Charlie Montoyo to considerably sharpen his decision making skill. Mr. Montoyo seems to struggle, even now, making timely mound changes as if it truly pains him to have anything to do with potential conflict of opinion with his players. Another case in point is keeping George Springer in the line up due largely to the playerโs insistence. George is an extremely talented player but the man is playing with a serious injury that plagues his ability to focus and to perform and to contribute on the field. No one should be in the lineup at this critical time unless they can demonstratively contribute to either offense or defence, or at least one or the other. Of equal concern is the risk that Georgeโs injury does not heal but is exacerbated prior to seaonโs end. The decision of who needs to be in the lineup and where is clearly one the manager should make, and decisively.
Iโve been a Jays fan since the beginning. Iโve attended games in old CNE Stadium, SkyDome and Rogers Stadium. No matter where I lived I supported the Jays, Iโve purchased numerous jerseys and caps over the years. My money was accepted no problem. Now I want to support the team through the Welcome Home 50/50 draw. I wanted to buy 50 tickets. Unfortunately Iโm a resident of Kelowna British Columbia. Itโs a flap in the face not to include those of us not residing in Ontario!!! Maybe you should understand that the Jays are more than โOntarioโsโ team.
Or maybe they are Ontarioโs team and the rest of Canada can vanish.
The past few Jays losses have showed up the glaring ineptitude of the Jay’s manger Montoyo to properly manage most aspects of the game including player game starting selection, substitutions during the game, poor base running decisions and most of all, terrible management of bullpen pitching changes. Fans deserve better, the players deserve better. Act now before it becomes too late to salvage this season.

I enjoy watching MLB baseball on TV with my grandchildren. Over the years we have noticed players spitting on the field. It used to be because they were using chewing tobacco. But now, they continue to spit for no apparent reason. On TV you have the opportunity of seeing this being done close up by players at bat and on the field over and over again. The habit is truly disgusting. One might think that with the danger of spreading the covid virus, this habit would no longer be permitted.
But the worst part is the example MLB sets for the younger generation of baseball players. Sure enough, while watching my grandchildren playing on the diamond, kids are spitting just like their idols on TV.
I think it is time for MLB to put an end to this unpleasant habit. I donโt see basketball players or hockey players or tennis players or soccer players spitting, so why should professional baseball players be any different?
Itโs time for a change. What do you think?
