Hello,
I had booked my to & fro flights;
* Lucknow, India – Bangkok, Thailand – Hanoi, Vietnam [E Ticket No. 217-3433617624]
* Siem Reap, Cambodia – Bangkok, Thailand – Mumbai, India [E Ticket No. 909-3433706178]
from your airline, but I was unfortunately I lost my grandmother during the travel days and couldn’t make it to the trip.
I requested for a refund as all the reputed airlines refund the ticket amount if there is a demise in traveler’s family. But I was really disappointed to know that you people do not refund on grandmother’s death as you do not consider grandparents being family!!
This doesn’t sound correct to me and I am not taking this as an excuse. It is not human to give such bizarre reasons.
I would request the authorities to kindly look into the matter and help me out with this.
Hoping for a fair and just actions from your end.
Thank You,
Tanvi Rastogi.
Hello my name is Glen and i have been using Thai Airways to travel to and from Brisbane Australia to Bangkok and other destinations for at least 4 years, and during this period of time i have had great service both onboard your flights and dealing directly with Thai Airways staff and have had nothing but praise and good comments about your air service.
But as of October last year when our flights on the 30/10/18 were cancelled on short notice and without any explanation things seemed to go down hill.
On the 5 of March my flight from Hat Yai in southern Thailand number TG 2264 departing at 18-45 pm had to return to the Hat Yai terminal because of engine trouble, this resulted in me missing my connecting flight to Brisbane at 12-01 pm and as there was no flight on the Wednesday i had to stay in Bangkok until the next flight to Brisbane leaving at 12-01 Friday the 8 of March, this situation was very tiring and stressful for all of the people involved as there was a lack of information about what was happening and we were under the impression right up until we arrived at Bangkok that we would be able to continue on TG 473 to Australia that night, it wasn’t until we were in the terminal that i we were told the flight had already departed, and for me no other flight until Friday midnight.
being taken down into security and sitting waiting like criminals was not how i expected we would be treated non of us were offered food or water there was no information about what was happening and it was not a good experience. this delay has cost me a lot of extra phone calls for m booking my bus return from Brisbane to where i live in Hervey Bay Queensland, appointments for business and family and my wife who is Thai was not sure where i was or what was happening.
It created a lot of extra stress, i understand that these things happen at times but what i didn’t expect from Thai Airways was the poor handling of the passengers involved as we are your present and hopefully future customers, i am hoping that Thai Airways can help myself and my wife flying on your service my with is a member of Royal Orchid plus membership number GK64111 / 12/2013 Wannipa Choochuay, and it would be nice to receive some sort of token or discount on future flights and my bus ticket cost refunded, i certainly hope the you can show us some compassion and consideration for the upset and stress that was created during those two days.

On 15th Dec 2018, I was at Lucknow (LKO) airport in India to check by at Thai Air FLIGHT No TG2334 (LKO-BKK) and onwards flight TG433 0 (BKK-Jakarta). At the check in counter the guy refused me to check in saying that I do not have Indonesian visa on my passport. I tried to explain him that in Indonesian there is a free visa on arrival for 30 days and I am going to visit my son there who is a nonresident Indian for last 20 years. But the guy at check in counter was very rude and courtesy less and asked me to go to Thai Airways office at Lucknow airport. I had no option rather to go there. There I met with Thai Air staff Mr. Dharmesh Singh (Or Dharmendra Singh) and I explained my case but he was also non cooperative . As a last resort I had to call my son Mr. Rajesh Chandra in Jakarta, Indonesia and requested Mr Dharmesh Singh to talk to him. My son tried to explain him that for Indian Citizens there is a 30 dyas Visa on Arrival in Indonesia and it is of two types ie one which is free and valid for 30 days only and the other which costs USD 35 which is for 30 days and which further can be extended 2 times 30 days each. To my surprise while talking to my son Mr. Dharmesh told to my son in a raised voice that ‘Do not teach me how many types of visa are there as I do this job 365 days” and Mr Dharmesh hanged up the phone in anger. This was really shocking and frustrating. Finally Mr. Dharmesh told me that my son has to send an authority letter, his passport copy , his Indonesian identity proof then only I would be allowed to check in. I WAS PENIC AND NURVEOUS AS TIME WAS RUNNING OUT AND MY BLOOD PRESSURE WENT UP AND I HAD TO TAKE BLOOD PRESSURE PILL. Finally My son had to send these documents to me over Watts App and then they were printed there at Thai Air office at Lucknow airport and then I had to go again to check in counter which was closed by that time .
The nightmare does not end here! The same ignorant guy (unfortunately I do not know his name) came again at check in counter and he gave me only one boarding pass (LKO-JKT). I tried to convince him that when my luggage has been booked up to Jakarta and when all the sectors the ticket is Thai Air then I must get two boarding passes. I was shocked to hear the answer from that person .He told me that since he is using Air India’s computer system to check in so onward journey boarding pass cannot be issued in Lucknow and I had to take it in Bangkok. This was nonsense by the Thai air person! I mean how come Thai Air do not have their own infrastructure at Lucknow airport. Being in no choice situation, I had to run to immigration queue and requested people to jump off the queue. The best part was the immigration officer did not ask any documents except the return ticket and he put the stamp on my passport and I could manage to board the plane with great discomfort and mental harassment!
I am 75 year old senior citizen and patient of high blood pressure. I must say that it was a terrible mental torture and harassment by rude and impolite employees of Thai Airways for which I seek compensation from Thai Airways and also punishment to Mr. Dharmesh Singh as well as the other guy at check-in counter. How come Thai air is keeping such untrained and rude employees who do not have basic courtesy and civic sense? For sure this would be my last journey with Thai Air.
Just for your information I used to visit my son in Jakarta, Indonesia every year and no airline staff asked me his credentials, his passport details and an authority letter to check in. IN CASE OF VSA ON ARRIVAL WHAT THEY USED TO ASK ONY RETURN TICKTET. To be very specific previously during 2017 , I flew to Jakarta two times ie by Scoot Air from Lucknow and by Malindo Air from New Delhi and none of them asked me any documents except return ticket .
My passport copy and two boarding passes are being pasted below for your ready reference. For next 2 months I will be staying with my son Mr. Rajesh Chandra in Jakarta so my India mobile phone number will not work and therefore for further communication you can contact me or my son by his mobile phone number + 62 816 799939
Looking forward your early positive reply
Kind regards,
Ramesh Chandra Katiyar
