About Immigration New Zealand
Immigration New Zealand is the chief  government agency responsible for visas and immigration in New Zealand. Formerly New Zealand Immigration Service, the agency was formed in 1912 and operates under the Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment. Immigration New Zealand currently has offices in Auckland, Henderson, Manukau, Hamilton, Palmerston North, Wellington, Porirua and Christchurch. The agency offers a range of visas, from visit, work to study.

Visa types include visitor visas, student visas, work visas and residence visas. Immigration New Zealand has visa application centers around the world, with the list including Australia, China, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Russia, Singapore, UAE, UK and US. Besides providing visas, Immigration New Zealand also enforces the immigration policies and processes, monitors immigration fraud, migrant exploitation and trafficking.

Those who posses an Australian or British passport do not need a visa to visit New Zealand. Also visitors from those countries which has a visa waiver agreement with New Zealand are exempted. Others will need a visitor visa for their visit. The visitor visa is valid for up to nine months. A visitor visa can also be applied online. Electronic passport holders can use the New Zealand Customs eGate service to complete Customs and Immigration checks faster. On arrival note that a Passenger Arrival Card must be submitted before passing through Customs Passport Control.
