We stayed at the Ecnco Lodge in Prince Anne Maryland. My review rate for this place is “0”. We couldn’t get much sleep because I was killing flies all night distributing our sleep. We were hungry for breakfast only to find the only food there at 9am was 2 types of cereals.. First time we’ve stayed at a Econo Lodge and my best evaluation is that if all these branches of hotels are the same don’t waste your time checking in. On the other hand if others are different then I suggest that HQ revamp or replace the current management here.
We were very disappointed in our recent stay. The room was very dirty and had a strong smell of mold. We were unable to use the refrigerator due to the smell. There were NO working ice machines, no breakfast as advertised. We could not get the television on and when we did, the remote for it did not work. We had to unplug the tv to turn it off because remote had dead batteries in them. There was a loud altercation outside of our room at 6 am that woke us up. Yelling and swearing between customers. The entire facility was very dirty and was in desperate need of updating. We have stayed at Econo Lodges in the past, and will never stay at one again. Definitely considering contacting BBB.
On Tuesday night 11/03/22 we stayed in your hotel. Notice we stayed did not sleep. First of all we stayed in room 105 when we walked in it smelled like somebody was covering up smoking. It was a smoke free room. The bed stunk like dirty socks. The bath tub was dirty we did not even take a bath. The water on the left side of the sink leaked, water was on the sink. Water had to run at least 5 minutes before there was hot water. We slept in our clothes. Someone with a Mustang car played music my husband saw it when he went to take out little dog out. No breakfast and we paid $76.00 for this. We have photos of this place .
I was a guest in your Reno Motel on S. Virginia. When we got there one bed had not been made. The chairs had food and hair on them, and the front door to the room was open, it was already dark out and no lights were on. When we finally went in the night manager made the bed. Not very professional, with COVID he put his face in all three pillow cases to put them on the pillow. The refrigerator was dirty, it was 90 degrees yesterday and 100 today and the air conditioner was not working. When they were told about the conditioner we were told they had a floor fan we could use but would have to come down and get it. I am mobility impaired and can not carry something like that back to the room. So we did without towels. This was one of the worst Motels I have ever stayed at. We didn’t want to be here and to have such a horrible time in is unforgivable.
My husband and I booked online for a room in Orillia Ontario and was very disappointed in our room. The lobby smelled, the windows and doors were very dirty, and then got to our room, the door was damaged, and we were supposed to have a smoke free room but could smell smoke and there was burn holes in the rug, side of the counter top in the bathroom and on the side of the tub. Then there was black spots on the ceiling, and the mattress was not good. Thought I would have a bath and fixture not clean and the bath tub floor was spongy. Also when I booked online said it was $53 plus $13 tax so $68 then when I confirmed it said Us $68 and $98 Canadian this should be mentioned ahead of time that it is US. So we paid $98 for a stinky, noisy room, that said breakfast was included which was orange juice and yogurt that’s not breakfast.
We are a group of Canadians that love racing ,our numbers varies from year to year, this time it was sixteen of us, all adults. For the last six or seven years, we have been staying at you location in Norwalk, Ohio, never a problem, our reservations are made at least year in advance and, as I said before until this year never an issue.
This year everything changed. After trying for weeks (since early February) to contact the motel and make sure our reservations were there and receiving no response, we decided to come down anyways expecting the excellent service we always had. Wrong decision. There is a new manager/owner that as soon as we walked in the door says to us: Oh, you are the Canadian group, I have nothing for you”. And just like that, knowing full well that we had reservations, he kicked us out the door and left us on the street with no place to stay. This was not the only incident recorded that day, other guests had same issue ..now my question is how is your Company allowing this type of operator?
