About E-ZPass
E-ZPass is a toll collection system in the US, mostly found across New York and New Jersey. It has become the most convenient way to pay tolls and reduce congestion. Paying for parking can be done easily with E-ZPass Plus. Tolls are automatically deducted from the prepaid account as the vehicle with E-ZPass passes through. Tags must be installed exactly as shown in the E-ZPass GuideBook. For a new E-ZPass account, you can complete an application online and then pick up an E-ZPass On-the-Go tag at a retail location nearest to you. Only one account is necessary to use E-ZPass at participating facilities.
Members can check transactions on the web anytime by signing into their account. When your account is low in cash, you will be alerted to make a payment using credit cards. You can also make a payment at one of the E-ZPass customer service locations. The MTA Reload Cards gives E-ZPass customers the ability to use cash at many retailer and kiosk locations. The minimum reload amount is $20. The maximum you can load at any one time is $500.
If your tag is lost or stolen, you can login to your account and report same. You can also request an additional tag. Note that you will receive a violation for toll evasion, insufficient funds, speeding or class mismatch. The Toll Evasion Notice contains a portion that should be mailed along with your payment. Violations can be paid using cash or by credit/debit card online.
E-ZPass can be used at New York State Thruways, Port Authority of NY & NJ sites, at Newark Liberty Intl Airport, LaGuardia Airport, JFK Intl Airport, Albany Intl Airport and Atlantic City Intl Airport.
