Hello CX Customers Service,
Tue 27 Jun. CX5896. I arrived two minutes late (3.20pm) at CX check in counter. Cathay Manager told me to run to Dragon Air counter, at the opposite side of the terminal, because the flight counter and IT system had just been closed. After a run across the terminal to Dragon Air, Staff and Manager of Dragon forced me to pay HKD 1800 ($1000 for no show, $800 for rebooking).
Needless to say there are many flights between HK and Shanghai. That’s the first time an Mainstream National Carrier (Cathay) makes me pay the equivalent of a full price ticket (HKD1800) to one of its’ main destinations, Shanghai. If those 2 minutes delay require HKD 1800 and a lot of stress: better choose a China Mainland or even a Charter Carrier whose much cheaper for the same basic rebooking service.
Eventually I flew with KA808 to Pudong, which was 4 hours late on June 27. And I flew KA805 return to HK, which was 6 hours late on Sat. July 1st. Total 10 hours and two half days wasted because of Cathay Dragon flights delays.
My time may be “cheap” to you. But those HKD1800 penalty (noshow & rebooking, equivalent to the price of a single ticket) on top of Tuesday and Saturday afternoon wasted waiting for your flights delayed, is really SHOCKING to me. Please reimburse immediately the HKD1800 and compensate me for those 2 days wasted because of your flight delays.
Regards,
Nicolas Brunau
