De Waal Park is a popular tourist attraction in Cape Town, South Africa. Opened in the year 1895, the park is spread across 7.2 hectares and is managed by the City of Cape Town. The park is named in honor of David Christiaan de Waal who served as mayor of Cape Town in 1889 and 1890. The urban park is perfect for outing, a quick stroll or fun time with kids. The park’s major attraction is the tall pine and cypress trees. Also, there are more than 120 species of trees spread across the park. There is also a pond and fountain that serves as a major attraction.
