About CityCat
CityCat is a ferry service that operates from several parts in the city of Brisbane. It is operated by the Brisbane City Council. The fleet includes 21 ferries and operates seven days of the week. The ‘Cat’ in CityCat is the short for Catamarans. The ferry service is the most preferred by locals and tourists for exploring riverside areas of the Brisbane CBD. The first CityCat ferry begins at 5.30am. The ferry goes up to 12am in the midnight. All CityCat ferries offer access to WiFi.
Tickets can be purchased on the ferry. Travellers can also get the Translink Go Card that can be used on a number of public transportation modes. The Go Card can be recharged at most stations. You can also purchase and top up the card online.
There are two zones that tickets can be purchased for. The terminals include University of Queensland, West End, Guyatt Park, Regatta, North Quay, South Bank, QUT Gardens Point, South Bank, Maritime Museum, Thornton Street, Holman St, Riverside, Docksie, Sydney Park, Mowbray Park, Norman Park, Hawthorne, Bulimba, Apollo Road, Teneriffe and Brett’s Wharf.
