About CheapOair
CheapOair is a flight-focused online travel agency that began in the year 2005. Headquartered at New York, US, CheapOAir facilitates booking of flights, hotels, cruises and vacation packages. Just as the name hints, the primary objective of the website is to sell affordable tickets. CheapOair offers low-range fares on a wide range of travel options. The portal is a haven for business fliers and travelers who love exploring without burning a hole in their pocket. Customers can use the portal to book tickets of American Airlines, Spirit Airlines, JetBlue, Air Canada, Delta Airlines, West Jet, Avianca, Turkish Airlines, Sun Country Airlines, Philippine Airlines, Hawaiian Airlines, Qatar Airways, British Airways, AeroMexico, Interjet, Frontier Airlines, Air France, Alaska Airlines, among others. The website offers numerous discounts to fliers. And you have the option to choose from more than 600 airlines. With the coupon codes, which are a part of the offering, travelers can seek specific discounted fares, subject to validity. Seniors, youth, military personnel, and visually impaired travelers are offered additional discounts.
Bookings are as easy as they can get. To book a flight, you will have to choose the destination, enter the travel dates, number of travelers, cabin class, and click on search. You can also specify if you want to search for one way or two way tickets. The result page will display the flights, along with the cheapest and shortest flights. Users can adjust the dates on the result page as well. When you choose a flight, proceed to book the same by making the payment. CheapOair has tools to help plan as well as check lowest fares. The ‘fare calendar’ is one that is handy if you have flexible travel plans. The tool will help you find fares for two months and book one with the lowest fare. As for payment, CheapOAir accepts Visa, MasterCard, Discover, American Express and PayPal. All bookings can be managed by signing into account. You can download/print your itinerary or request for cancellation. Refunds are processed within 7-14 days. Fliers can do web check-in and print boarding pass up to 24 hours in advance. Details of baggage will be printed on the itinerary.
CheapOair offers a price match promise so fliers can book tickets with confidence. If you find another flight with a lower fare than the one available on the site, CheapOair will refund the difference amount, or you can cancel the ticket for a full refund. The price match promise is available to the general public and is not valid on opaque bookings (bookings where the final price is not displayed until the booking is complete). CheapOair charges booking fees for the flight, which range from $0 to $35. The portal also offers travel protection in the form of insurance. The cancellation policy, trip interruption policy, travel delay policy, and baggage delay policy are extremely flier friendly. Any query or complaint can be communicated to the customer assistance team via the dedicated phone line or email.
My issue with Cheapoair was the shocking charges for my 12 yr. old grand-daughter & I, plus a 1990 Travel Assist fee? Never heard of that. I was charged US$ 98.00..very disappointed as I never paid for random seats at any US owned airlines, except Spirit Airlines (No spirit there at all). In future, I’ll book my own tickets, cruises, etc. Should not try to rip seniors off like that. Upon my return flight on United Airlines on 12/21/22, I was NOT charged for any seats & I was comfortable. Go figure
I have to say I had a bad experience with an agent after purchasing my ticket. I called cheap0air and spoke to agent Nelson, whom I wanted him to add on to my ticket wheelchair needed to and from airplane. I also asked about the seating if I could reserve with him. He said sure I could, so I asked him if he could get something near window or aisle as I need to have me knee stretched at times. He said that it would be 75.95 for me to reserve and that would be row 7. I said I didn’t need to be to front. so he said well from 20 up its $49.95. I said to reserve? he replied yes. I said never mind I have the airline assign seat. He replied with , They will also charge me and could be a little more. I was shocked and told him ok reserve it. I said never again I purchase tru spirit. So when I received my revised confirmation I saw that it said that I had Travel Assistance for $19.95 and seat was $30.00. I called back and the second person I spoke to I couldn’t understand what they were saying but only that they would review the recording to see if it was explaning to me. I should hear from them in 2-3 days.
Meanwhile I called again today and the person I spoke with also explained the breakdown but kept saying that I purchased this service, when I didn’t and it was explained in that form. She said all she could do was give me a coupon because the $19.99 was non-refundable. I was furious.
I was on my way to file a complaint when I decided to have a chat with someone online. This person, her name being Nicole, was sooooo helpful in explaining the whole issue and how it should had been told to me. She apologized a few times. Long story short, she resolved my issue by explaining the whole situation. I have to say if it wasn’t for her help, I would had gone thru with filing the complaint.
The agents need to be trained some more in being honest about the charges and not totaling up the amounts just to get us to purchase. What should had been $184. ticket ended in $279.98. Crazy.
