About Canada Post
Canada Post is a Canadian state enterprise for delivery of parcels and letter mail services. Founded in 1867, Canada Post is owned and operated by Crown corporation. In French, the enterprise is called Postes Canada. Headquartered at Ottawa, Ontario, Canada Post employs more than 64,000 across the country. It remains the country’s leading parcel company, with $2bn in parcels revenue in 2017. Together, the parcels generated 33 per cent of the Canada Post segment’s revenue. In 2017, Canada Post delivered mail, catalogues and parcels numbering to 8.4bn. More than 16mn addresses were served in 2017. It’s services also reach to 192 countries. Within Canada, the postal agency has nearly 6,200 retail post offices. Delivery of parcels and mails are handled by a fleet of 13,000 Canada Post vehicles. Canada Post also operates an ecommerce channel where customers can book logistics and supplies.
Canadians can locate a post office nearest to their address on the website. You can filter results by street address, PO box or postal code. If you have already dispatched an item, you can enter your tracking number on the website to track the status of delivery. Customers can use the Ship-in-a-click service to choose a shipping service, print off a shipping label and drop it off in a street letter box, parcel drop box, or at a post office.
There are tools available for customers to calculate and compare postage prices for shipping and mailing. Simply input the origin and destination, along with the package size and weight details online to calculate rates. Other useful tools include mail forwarding, FlexDelivery (for online purchases delivered to any post office), epost (to receive bills and statements), print labels, estimate duties/taxes and tools for small business shipping. Marketing tools for businesses include Precision Target (direct mail using maps), Snap Admail (tool to create direct mail campaigns), Machineable Mail Advisor (for large volume campaigns), among others.
For individuals, there are a number of options for sending personal mail and parcels. There are Priority, Xpresspost and Regular Parcel options for sending letters and documents. The timeframe can be 3-5 days, next day to same day delivery. For global delivery, you have Priority Worldwide, Xpresspost International, International Parcel, Tracked Packet International and Small Packet International. Other products and services include sending money orders, buying prepaid reloadable cards, collectible stamps and gift cards. Canada post is a joke! They hold a parcel for 2 weeks and then they send it back, why are you a post office then??? Do you realize some people work shift?? I go to work hours before the post office is open and hours after it’s closed, how is someone supposed to pick up parcels?? Also sending parcels which have GIFTS in them to family internationally and my family has to pay on their end to receive their parcel, after I have already paid all that from my end!! I acquired about this and customs says it’s the post office and the post office says it’s customs!!! What a joke our postal service is!
This is the second time according to Canada Post an attempt to deliver my package was made. The first time time I replied and nothing happened. It’s happening again. I’m still lost as to what is really going. on. If an attempt was made why wasn’t a knock on the door or the door bell rung. Another thing didn’t delivery have my phone. They seem to use it after the fact why not during.
You guys take so long to deliver a package, I cry every-time I’m getting a package delivered by Canada post. I love when my package get delivered by couriers such as UPS and Fed Ex. Can u imagine it’s almost Christmas and my dress is not here. Now my whole Christmas is ruined. Tell me why I received a package that I ordered from last week already thanks to FedEx . Canada post takes forever from Dec 8 and my package still not here.
Why can FedEx, Purolator,and DHL get any package to me in a reasonable amount of time yet Canada Post ( a crown corporation) can’t manage to get a parcel half way across Canada in less than two weeks. Maybe Harper’s plan for this corporation were right thinking.
Trying to Contact Canada Post by email is like travelling to the Sun in a chocolate spaceship, does any one know an email address that a human monitors on issuses of undeliverd mail?
I have just spent an hour trying to solve a couple of problems with Canada Post that could have been rectified simply by some online testing.
I was trying to extend the closing date for my hold mail.
1.I tried unsuccessfully to register on my account .The three headings are the reference number, my postal code and my email address. After two phone calls I learned that I had to have my email address loaded by my local post office for it to work. They had not done that. By insisting that they do that then I would not have had that problem.
2.The start date of my hold mail had not yet started when I tried to extend the closing date. ..thus there was no way of extending the closing date. A simple message on the form saying this would have saved another half hour of wasted time.
I know that this note will likely not be acted on…too bad because others will likely waste time on the same problems.

I would like to know what is Canada post going to do about my lost and damaged mail, Besides saying we apologize for your inconvenience.
Visa charged me $30 to stop payment on my check nothing but aggravation and lost time I can’t Replace. Thank’s Canada Post!
