Aboutย Cambodian National Police
Cambodian National Police is the chief law enforcement agency in Cambodia, directly coming under the Interior Ministry. The national police is divided into six departments – Security, Transport, Border, Administrative and Judicial. It currently has a strength of 64,000 staff. The force, established in the year 1945, is headed by the Commissioner-General. The autonomous units within the force consist of Interpol unit, Headquarters unit, Intervention unit and Drug Enforcement unit. The land and marine borders are managed and secured by the Border department. Under the judicial police, you have the criminal police and economic police. Together they maintain law and order, prevent terrorist activities, arrest criminals, fight drugs and trafficking, and secure the borders.
