About Bunaken National Park
Bunaken National Park is a marine biosphere located in Manado, Sulawesi. The Indonesian marine park was established in the year 1991 and currently covers a total surface area of 89,065 hectares. It further comprises the 5 islands of Bunaken, Manado Tua, Siladen, Mantehage and Nain. For some interesting facts, the park has at least 58 different corals and over 2,000 fish species, in addition to coelacanths, dugongs, whales and turtles.
For visitors, there is a number of dive centers that operate tours and scuba diving packages. There are also homestays around the island.
