Beijing Subway customer serviceBeijing Subway began operations in the year 1969. It is one of the world’s busiest rapid transit systems, transporting more than 10 million each day. The oldest metro system in China, Beijing Subway is owned by the Beijing Municipal Government. It operates a staggering 19 lines connecting to 334 stations.

The Beijing Subway’s operating times differ with lines. The first service begins at 5am and goes up to midnight. Fares are based on distance. It starts at Â¥3. Besides single ride tickets, you also have the Yikatong smartcard that can store multiple fares. It can be used on subway as well as buses. Tickets can be purchased from manned stations or through vending machines. Additional fares will be charged for passengers with large bags.
