Home to the Penn State Nittany Lions football team, the Beaver Stadium is an embodiment of the Penn State spirit because of its rich history and culture. Since 1960, the stadium has hosted numerous bowl games, championships, and collegiate athletics. Featuring an official seating capacity of more than 106,500, it is currently the second-largest stadium in the Western Hemisphere and also the fourth-largest across the globe. But, as the saying goes – with great power comes great responsibility – and Beaver Stadium perfectly captures that proverb with its state-of-the-art facilities and amenities.
In 2008, the Beaver Stadium was touted to have the finest student section in the country, and then in 2019, it was again awarded for a similar stature by an ESPN broadcasters and writers committee. The awards galore did not stop there because in 2016, the stadium was voted number one by a ‘USA Today’ poll, garnering close to 41 per cent of the total votes. And to top it all off, the stadium is also known to be one of the toughest venues for opposing teams in collegiate sports.
