About John F Kennedy International Airport
JFK Airport began commercial operations in the year 1948 as Idewild Airport. It was in 1963 that the airport was rededicated in memory of the former president John F Kennedy. The airport is operated by The Port Authority of New York and New Jersey and contributes about $30 billion to the New York/New Jersey region economy. JFK has seven terminals and employs some 35,000 people.   JFK is one of the world’s leading international air cargo centers. The airport connects to some 159 cities. It is today America’s most busiest airport and one of the 20th in the world. In 2010, the airport served some 46 million passengers. As a matter of fact, over ninety airlines operate out of JFK. The airport is a hub for American Airlines and Delta Air Lines, among others.
Some of the major airlines operating from the airport include Aer Lingus, Aeroflot, Air China, Air France, Air India, ANA, Alitalia, American Airlines, American Eagle, Asiana Airlines, Austrian Airlines, British Airways, China Airlines, Cathay Pacific, China Airlines, Delta Air Lines, EgyptAir, Finnair, Emirates, Etihad, Iberia, Japan Airlines, Korean Air, Qantas, Lufthansa, Qatar, Royal Jordanian, Swiss Airlines, TAM, Turkish, United Airlines, US Airways, Virgin America and Virgin Atlantic.
Silly music at Terminal 7. Most annoying. Why can’t we have some peace and quiet? Also the food is horrible and horribly expensive. I wanted to buy headphones but the fellow told me it was so much plus tax. Plus tax! At an airport. Avoid JFK if at all possible.
I have left several voice messages for customer service at JFK and I haven’t heard back. Can I get a good phone number for a customer service representative?
Shocking wait times at JFK security. The self service kiosks are useless, the helpers just push you from queue to queue. It took us over 2hrs to get through! JFK you should be ashamed and embarrassed. Never again- be warned all travellers.
HI I have an issue about my passport. I’ve been in Miami in 2014 july for holidays but the employee at the immigration point didn’t put the stamp on my passport. I’m going to flight to nyc in feb 2019. I will have problems due to the lack of the stamp concerning my previous trip ?
Thanks in advance

Hello, I am a travel agent from the UK and looking at booking two passengers first class from LHR- JFK. The customer would be travelling in a mobility scooter but wants to know whether she will have to wait in the long queue to clear customers, or whether there is a welfare queue to save her waiting so long in her condition. I have tried contacting JFK directly but have been unable to get the answer that I need. Is this something that you could advise me on?
Kind regards,
Charlotte
Hi, sir/madam. How are you ?
I have 3 boxes consignment in your airport , which is ready to be delivered by U.N. diplomat Kelvin Collins. Hi is in airport more than half year ,but can not finish it. He sent me many times your airport all kinds of documents, such as money laundering, antiterrost certificates, late fee charge, and so on, this time they charge renewal of boxes codes, but they just don’t want to let him to deliver it.i have spent over $7000 for all these. I have all documents copies and money sending copies. Please find out if there is some corruption and also release my boxes. If I have your email I send all copies to you. Thanks
I travelled on flight B6 429 from JFK to Montero bay on Monday. I checked my baby stroller at the door and on arrival to Montego bay u received it and it was ruined. I want to know who to call about this. A Gooden
Airport Lounges.
I am trying to find out what airport lounges are available for booking. We have a return flight to the UK booked on 10th September 2018 departing at 8.30pm and would like to book a lounge for this date. I was unable to find any details of what was available and how I could contact someone to book a lounge. Can you help please. Thank you.

I am posting this here as I am not sure where else to express my genuine concern, having passed through JFK on Friday night ( 7th April)
Whilst waiting in line outside “The Local at JFK” restaurant, a few of us noticed an unattended case. We asked the American family behind and also a couple dining on the edge of the restaurant if the case belonged to them. It didn’t. Being quite concerned, given the 2 awful terror attacks the previous week, I approached a gentleman who worked at the airport to report it. The gentleman initially thought I was talking about tissues. I then pointed to the bag, and explained once again that it was unattended and that we didn’t know who it belonged to. He then advised me that he couldn’t understand English.
The lady from the family in the line behind us then went to speak with him. He told her not to worry, and that he was sure the owner would be somewhere close by. He could not have been less bothered, and I feel his attitude and lack of concern was massively inappropriate for the environment and current political climate, and essentially puts all airport uses in danger. fortunately one of the servers at the restaurant took our concerns more seriously. I am still incredibly shocked by such a passive attitude, and feel managers at the airport really need to be made aware of this, and address it PDQ.
I have a steel plate in my leg. what is the protocol for getting through security?
