I had an unfortunate experience with the support line yesterday. My new laptop did not recognise the CD drive. None of the Microsoft fixes worked. Called the support line several times, they were cross and impatient as was I. They have a very poor knowledge of even common issues, including the conflict with iTunes, windows 8. etc Google told me windows 8 and the Microsoft fixes do not work with each other!!! Found the fix via Google and it did not require sending the computer back or restoring to factory settings. Also found there was a significant language barrier. I sincerely hope I never have to contact these people again.
Just bought a aspire 3 ultra-book from Taiwan on 16 Dec 2011,been told that I will have one yr warranty, how should I purchase an extended warranty? Am I entitled the cash back promotion?Many Thanks.
We currently own an Acer Aspire notebook 5536.( model n. LX.PAWOX.307). Unfortunately we are extremely dissaointed with this product for the following reasons. The Notebook continues to crash for no apparent reason and loses everything we have saved on the Hard drive, we then have to reaload everything back into the Notebook with recovery disks etc etc taking a number of hrs to complete. We have owned this Notebook for approx 2 years having purchased it from our local Goodguys store here in Morayfield. Our Notebook will only run on power now with the Battery having been unable to be used for over a year now. We purchased an extended 3 year warranty with this Notebook and sent the Notebook back to Acer through our local Goodguys store to have all of the above issues rectified but unfortunately although the issues are rectified at the time it appears to be only a temp fix. Our Notebook cost us around $1,000 not including the extra $$ we spent on the extended warranty.
