What is Shopee Philippine’s Order Cancellation and Refund Policy?

Shopee has implemented a straightforward cancellation policy for all its customers.

For Paid Local Orders (Pre-Order Item): Cancellation must be done within one hour of placing the order and before the seller arranges for shipment. After one hour, any cancellation request will be subject to the seller’s discretion. Also, no cancellations will be entertained once the shipment has been arranged.

For Paid Local Orders (Non-Pre-Order Item) And Paid Overseas Order (Pre-Order And Non-Pre-Order Item): Cancellation can be carried out at any moment before the seller arranges shipment. But no cancellations will be allowed once the shipment has been arranged.

Additionally, Shopee offers refunds immediately for successful cancellations of orders. However, the refund time period and process will be dependent on the payment method used for placing the order initially. For instance, refunds to credit card/debit card/Google Pay will be processed within 5 to 45 business days. On the other hand, refunds to your ShopeePay account will take around 24 to 48 hours (for full refunds) or 5 to 7 days (for partial refunds).

What are the Steps to Cancel Order and Get Refund

Before you proceed to cancel your Shopee order, remember that you can only submit one cancellation request. If your request is rejected or withdrawn, you cannot place another request for the same order. With that being said, go ahead and follow the below-mentioned steps for a swift cancellation.

How to Cancel Order Online

If your order remains unshipped, you will be able to cancel it online.

  1. Begin the cancellation process by heading over to the official website here and logging in to the account used for placing the order.
  2. After signing in, head over to “My Purchases” and look for the order you want to cancel. Once you have found it, click on the order to reveal the details.
  3. On the order details page, select “Cancel Order” and choose your cancellation reason. After that, hit “Confirm”.
  4. Your cancellation request will be registered, and once it is processed, you will obtain your refund.

To check the status of your cancellation request, head over to “My Purchases,” select your order, and then choose “View Cancellation Details”. Shopee also offers you the ability to withdraw your cancellation request by clicking on “Withdraw Request > Confirm” from the same window.

How to Cancel by Messaging the Seller Directly

If your “Cancel Order” button has been greyed out, it means that your order is being arranged for shipment by the seller. To cancel such orders, you need to manually message the seller.

  1. Start the cancellation process by first downloading the Shopee app on your smartphone, either from the Google Play Store or the Apple App Store. Sign in to the account that was used to place the order.
  2. Head over to “My Purchases” and select the order you want to cancel. Under “Order Details,” choose “Contact Seller”.
  3. Proceed to message the seller relating to your order cancellation. Sellers usually have 2 days to respond to your cancellation request.
  4. Once the seller agrees to your request, the seller has to fill out the Buyer Initiated Order Cancellation Form along with the necessary proofs. Once the application is approved within 1 to 3 business days, you, as the buyer, will receive the refund.

How to Cancel by Initiating a Return

Apart from messaging the seller, you can also initiate a return request to cancel and get a refund for your order.

  1. Kickstart the return process by signing into your Shopee account here. Additionally, you can also use your Shopee smartphone app to sign in and register a return request.
  2. After signing in, head over to “My Purchases > To Receive” and select the order you want to return. Under order details, choose “Return/Refund” and then select the product(s) in that order that you wish to return. After that, choose “Next”.
  3. You will then be required to select a reason for your return. After confirming your reason, you may be required to provide evidence and a description (if applicable). Finally, click on “Submit”.
  4. Once your cancellation request is submitted, you can expect your return request to be processed within 7 to 9 working days.
