080 Lounge: Cards accepted & how to purchase access

Premium lounges are pretty common at most airports, but rarely do we see one that ticks all of the right boxes – like the recently inaugurated 080 Lounge Bangalore. Named after Bangalore’s STD code and located at the Kempegowda International Airport in Bangalore, India, the lounge serves as a popular waiting destination for both domestic and international travelers. Offering a variety of services and amenities, the 080 Lounge is destined to make anyone’s journey enjoyable and comfortable.

Launched in a dual avatar, the 080 Domestic Lounge can be found both in Terminal 1 and 2 of the Kempegowda International Airport. Alternatively, the 080 International Lounge can also be accessed via Terminals 1 and 2, and both lounges remain open 24 hours every day. Additionally, there is a 080 Transit Hotel in Terminal 1 as well, offering services to passengers who are only passing through India before reaching their final destination country. With that being said, if you are looking to gain access to the 080 Lounge and want to know more about the entire process, then our extensive guide can be highly insightful.

Know the List of Cards Accepted

The 080 Lounge offers complimentary as well as paid access to cardholders of different credit cards to suit the audience’s preferences. Complimentary access (supported by a handful of credit cards and Priority Pass membership) allows access to the regular lounge with buffet (cost of drinks is additionally charged). If you want to upgrade from the regular to the Luxe or VIP lounge, then additional charges will be incurred.

For starters, the supported or accepted cards include American Express Black or Platinum Travel Card along with a selected range of other AMEX credit cards, such as the Platinum Corporate Card and Platinum Reserve Credit Card. Also, Priority Pass and IndusInd Bank Signature or Legend cards are supported.

In addition to that, access can also be obtained via VISA-branded credit cards or cards from any of the following mentioned vendors, such as Diners Black, SBI Card Prime American Express, Axis Magnus, HDFC Infinia and Regalia, and ICICI Sapphiro. Internationally-issued DCB-branded credit cards and select Rupay-branded credit cards are also accepted.

It should be known that the above-mentioned supported cards are subject to change at any moment and support for new credit cards will be added over time. Thus, interested users must confirm the supported card with the lounge before using it.

How to Pay and Access Without a Card

If you do not have any of the above-mentioned credit cards or even a Priority Pass, then you can access the 080 Lounge simply by walking in and paying the requisite fees for the included amenities including food and beverage. To do that, follow the recommended steps provided below.

  1. Once you are at the Kempegowda International Airport in Bangalore, India, head over to any of the 080 Lounge (domestic or international). Remember that the lounge facility can be accessed for at least 2.5-3 hours before catching your flight.
  2. At the reception area of the 080 Lounge, ask for access to the Luxe or VIP lounge.
  3. You will be asked to pay the requisite fees for obtaining the access, which is currently pegged at 3,500 INR plus taxes. The cost covers food and alcohol, and the aforementioned cost is subject to change with time.
  4. Once you have made the payment, you can access the lounge at your own pace without any limits.

Highlights You Should Know

Operating round the clock, the 080 Lounge is a network of airport lounges, nested at the heart of the Kempegowda International Airport in Bangalore, India. Utilizing both the airport’s terminals, the 080 Lounges allow passengers to get access to a variety of amenities such as complimentary food and beverages (if you have a supported credit card or Priority Pass), high-speed WiFi, comfortable seating options, access to TVs, newspapers, and magazines, and spa and salon services (additional payment necessary).

Each of the 080 Lounge also features secluded cubicle-sized workplaces known as business booths or connect lounges, so that you can get your work done or carry out video meeting sessions, without anyone disturbing the beautiful ambiance. There is also a dedicated library for all the readers out there, where you can read books for free and can also donate books if you want. And when you are hungry, you can grab a bite at the lounge’s sumptuous buffet menu or the perfectly laid-out la-a-carte menu, along with a range of options for alcohol from the nearby bar or Whiskey Lounge.

Food at the 080 Lounge includes items from the main course to desserts, along with fruits, fruit juices, and buttermilk. The cuisine primarily ranges from Indian with a hint of global influence, such as Asian, Mediterranean, or Thai. There is also a separate stand for aerated drinks and mocktails.

Apart from the above-mentioned features, some of the other highlights of the 080 Lounge include the mini theatre, where you can watch shows and movies, while comfortably sitting across a wide area. And the multiple lounge areas allow seating without having to feel crowded or with people in your face.
