About MphasiS
MphasiS BFL Limited was formed in the year 2000 after the merger of the US based MphasiS Corporation and India based BFL Software Limited. MphasiS Corporation was founded by Jaithirth Rao and Jeroen Tas in Santa Monica, California. In 2008, the company was acquired by Hewlett Packard (HP) for $13.9 billion. Currently Hewlett Packard currently own a 62% stake in the firm. Later on, in 2009, MphasiS changed its brand identity to become “MphasiS, an HP Company”. MphasiS operates as an independent subsidiary of HP with its own board. Operating from its base in Bangalore, MphasiS is ranked 7th amongst Indian IT companies and 165th in the Fortune India 500 list in 2011. The current CEO of the firm is Balu Ganesh Ayyar.
With a workforce numbering more than 40,000 employees, MphasiS is involved in providing comprehensive information technology services. Its main business revolves around business process outsourcing, infrastructure technology and application services. ‘Application Services’ refers to a host of services encompassing application development, maintenance and support services. A few other services the company is involved in are mortgage services, product engineering, infrastructure services, payment solutions and SAP. The company has a varied client base, with its range of services aimed at markets as diverse as financial services & insurance, healthcare, manufacturing, government, transportation, communications, and consumer & retail industries. MphasiS operates its business through a network of more than 30 offices in 19 countries with delivery centers in India, Sri Lanka, China, Australia, Japan, North America and Europe. In India, the company has centres in Bangalore, Raipur, Chennai, Pune, Mumbai, Vadodara, Indore, Puducherry, Ahmedabad, Bhubaneswar and Mangalore.
The company continues to grow strongly till this day. Recently, MphasiS marked $1 billion in revenues and registered a consolidated revenue of ?50.37 billion ($1,099.3 million) becoming the sixth Indian IT company to achieve this feat.
