I am very disappointed with acer products
I bought a Spin 5 on 11/10/2019 and by July 2020 already had issues with it. I called numerous times to have it fixed. They were not able to do it over the phone with me because everything they asked me to do was not working. I had to ship it at my own cost, to receive it back with the same issue in a space of a week. I called to let them know about it, they asked me to ship it back. It happened that they received the laptop broken on the side, saying that the computer might have moved inside the box during delivery and got broken
And i have to pay 424$ to fix it.
I told them that I am a student, I need my computer for my studies and I do not pick up money from the floor. That computer was not even a year old when it started having issues. I shouldn’t have had to send it back. And the best part is that I was told that, that is life, things get broken and we can’t really do anything about it. To be able to repair it, It’s either I pay that money or they return my computer as is. No possible discount on it.
I then asked if I pay that 424$ and the computer is still not working (since they were not able to fix it before), am I guaranteed a replacement? I was told that it’s not guaranteed.
After trying to get a computer fixed for more than 2 months, they still can’t guarantee a replacement. Wow.
Honestly I was so excited when I got that computer. It was my first time using acer, but never again. And I’m not going to recommend it to anybody.
To say that a customer even hung up on me because I was trying to speak to a supervisor. Then when I spoke with one, he said he would call me and never did.
Disappointed with product and with customer service.
I I purchase Acer Tower at Best Buy December 2018 by May 2019 the software crashed I called them and they’re telling me they only have 3 months warranty for software I didn’t purchase the warranty from Best Buy because I didn’t think that a computer would crash 5 months after buying it I called them nothing they can do to help me Acer is the worst I regret buying it I should have bought HP
I bought an Acer 8930g in 2009 just prior to the Win 7 roll out. It came with Vista 64 Home Premium on the HD, and some sort of DIY recovery disk system that I was never able to access. Acer offered a free Win 7 upgrade, but I missed out due to unresolved Vista problems. That was my first priority having no way to reinstall it.
Acer support was absent when I tried early on, and Vista has limped along with increasing problems, recently even missing the restore function. I understand now that there was a US Class Action over Acer’s failure to provide operating system media with new computers, which is exactly my problem, but I bought it in Canada.
Acer “Support” still puts me off to a menu system to buy recovery disks. My situation now requires Windows 7 be installed (for the free upgrade to Windows 10). Acer really owes me that since the free Win 7 upgrade offer was a selling point for my purchase. Does anyone know how I can get Acer to help?
Both my wife and I have Acer Iconia One Tablets (models A5008 and A6003). Both have been very disappointing. They are very slow, always coming up with error messages (Facebook not working; Yahoo not working etc.). Very, very dissatisfied with these units.
Called call centre once and am disappointed. They got me to reconfigure to factory settings and within a week I was having same problems. It was hard to understand the call centre representative, it sounded like she was in 10 x 10 office with numerous other reps, it was like listening to instructions in an echo chamber, you here everyone and everything.
Is there some place we can bring these units too in order to get them operating properly (we live in Ottawa, ON Canada).
Hopefully you can help. It would be nice to have a tablet that functions properly. We previously had Samsung tablets and they worked really well. Our next tablets will be Samsung unless you can rectify our issue.
I am extremely unhappy with Acer products. My 85 year old mother has a 4 month old Acer laptop. One of the hinges broke off and Acer warranty wanted her to send the laptop at her cost and then if their technician felt it was damage that could have been caused by her then she would have to pay for the repair. The Source where this was bought says this is the 5th one that comes back with broken hinge. I am posting all over social media to never buy ACER and I have asked The Source to reconsider selling their product.
My daughter’s just started to come apart at the hinges too! only 8 months old and I got the same thing, send it back at my expense and they’ll decide if it was my fault or not. If they decide I broke it, its a $200 repair for a $500 laptop!! Are you kidding me and we bought 3 of them and they still won’t do anything for me!! Never will I buy Acer again either. CRAP product and crap customer service. I’m fuming right now
I have tried to call Acer only to get dead response on the phone line. they seem to have a non existent phone service line. My Acer tablet has been at the Acer repair section in Toronto since July 2017. the Source from whom I purchased this piece of junk can not get any response from Acer either. I purchased the tablet in Dec 2016 and had problems from day one, I also purchased the extended warranty, Guess they are going to hold onto the computer until the warranty runs out. DO NOT COUNT ON ACER SUPPORT buy another product, one you can obtain help with.
I bought a new touch screen Acer laptop E5-575T from Best Buy in Sep 2016. Then I started noticing black spots on screen at random time and at random location. I went to Best buy and asked for a replacement. All i got from Best buy is a 1-800 number and asked me to contact Acer directly for replacement. I then call Acer and i was told this laptop was sold by Best buy, therefore I should contact Best buy for a replacement. Both best buy and Acer refused to replace the laptop with a defect that I purchased 3 months ago. Good job !!! I also contacted Acer tech Support and I was asked to pay for the shipping to repair center. Well done !!!
I just purchased a new Acer tablet and called support to assist in the setup. I was on the phone over two and one half hours and six calls to four different numbers. Most of the time was holding on the phone only for the last call to “Advanced Support” to tell me they were going to charge me $49.00 to help me with this call or $99.00 for the year. I did not have one person help me. I will never buy another acer product and will tell everyone about my terrible experience. I will try at great length to find out the president or ceo so I can tell them also about the poor (non-existant) customer service.
Acer Aspire E 11 has been nothing but problems. I’ve called customer service and had to download drivers for my touchpad and Internet to work. Issues keep on accumulating with no end in sight. Very frustrated to lose connectivity every couple of minutes. Resorted to just my iPhone. The laptop is garbage and customer service is ineffective.
I’ve been having the same problems (Plural!) since I bought an ACER Aspire E15 four(4) months ago, and the newest problem is the HDD failed and using the Rescue/Recovery disk I made on the 1st day doesn’t even appear to be seen by this floundering lemon of a laptop. I really regret not sticking with HP or Toshiba laptops!!! And so now it looks like I’m stuck running it back’n’forth from Pickering & Mississauga. GRRRrrrrr!!!!
I purchased an Aspire 5755 sometime in 2012. Within a year I came home to a completely dead computer, no POST no nothing. I called support and they had me send it to Mississauga for repair, which I did at my expense. Upon return about three weeks later, I was just happy to have my laptop back. Everything was good EXCEPT the left hand side shift key. When it was held down it printed a continuous row of periods. I called back support, who informed me it was a software issue and proceeded to offer me a maintenance contract. I declined think this is bull….. Time passes and eventually the hard drive starts acting up. Being not completely computer illiterate I dig into the Dos books and run an fdisk/?/?/? which fixes the hard drive and low and behold my shift key problem. Hmmmm. All is really good now as I type this comment on the same computer, EXCEPT, with the new windows 10 update courtesy of Mr. Gates. Mucking around with a new O.S. is always fun at the best of times. Now I am noticing a really slow computer. I run resource monitor and find my ram is being used at 50% right after booting up. then I notice 50% of 4 gigs. WTF this computer came with six. Where did the other two go? It had 6 I checked after I bought it. I Opened it for the first time in my life last week and there was 2 sticks of 2 gig ram. Now I am out shipping and handling and 2 gigs of ram for a warranty job. This is not right.
I have one of your tower computers. Purchased May 22 2015. The headphone/microphones jacks on the front have failed. It would be great if I could get some after sales service. Best Buy don’t give a crap about your shit. Your phone service is some Indian guy who can’t speak English, has no idea where Calgary is and is telling me to ship my computer to Texas….. How about you get this fixed under warranty at your expense before I go to my Credit Card company and get a refund as this product is faulty….
I just switched over to Windows 10 a few weeks ago. I now find when I plug in my power cord my screen goes black. This has never happened before until I went to Windows 10. Is it because I changed over or is there something wrong with the computer. I believe I’ve had this laptop about 2 years.
I also have an Acer emachines laptop. I have had it for 3 years no problem but recently had to get a technicial to help me (call went to India). He fixed the computer and wanted me to buy insurance. He pestered and pestered me but I did not give in. I did not purchase the insurance and then after handing up I saw that the problem he had supposedly fixed was still there. So what did he do. Undo all he had done because I did not buy the insurance. It makes you wonder. No more Acer products for me.
Worst support ever with Acer
I can’t believe the nightmare I am living with Acer – I will never buy another of their products. I purchased an Acer Aspire notebook end of February 2012. The hard drive went in December 2012 – I had to ship the notebook to the repair facility – 45.00. they sent it back with a new harddrive – only problem is that my warranty has now expired and there is no access to the dvd drive. I now have to pay for service! It’s so frustrating!
I bought a laptop (Serial number LXR4P021651022439B2) which is still on warranty, at Future shop, Aregebtia Mississauga. Now I believe that It has been a mistake giving my business to Acer. To start the customer service was horrible and it was handle as something normal with acer. Given for repair on 12/10/12 and nothing heard since! May be they are waiting for the warranty to expire? No more Acer….thanks….I had very bad experience and yet it was treated as normal….i’ll spare some more money and go for another make after more than 15 years of loyalty to Acer…thanks guys.

As long standing consumers of Acer products we were some what amused at the problems we have been having and want to try a final time to continue our relationship with Acer. We have alway’s stood with Acer, buying your products in quantity and having great success. Your newest 7″ Tablet is a product we went to your retailers to upgrade. We use your tablets here at the press mound for communication and media storage and display. We also include them in “gift bags” for visiting celebrities, journalists and Corporate guests. The exposure ACER received at every launch or visit was astronomical in sales and at no cost to you. Not a penny. Well I have spent one week locating a new 7″ model tablet to replace the original. We were paying full retail for the unit to try out, and get PO’s. Every retailer tried to “nickel and dime” us with no regard for you and your sales. We simply tried to get the best current price for the unit and order one. What we got was not one retailer giving us base price as seen elsewhere. Seriously, don’t they know the quantity you lose over $39.00?. Remember, we were paying retail, not being “comped” a model to inspect, which is the norm. I hope in the future, retailers are briefed on Corporate accounts and sales. We hoped to keep our relationship with ACER, a company with fine products and associates alike.

I find this suit to be litigious and ridiculous.
You sold a great Laptop for an amazingly low price which performs quite well for the
price point. I sincerely hope you win this lawsuit and that your business remains
unaffected by this absurdity. Did any of the litigants even bother to mention the great
price and wonder if maybe there was some sacrifice involved for such a low priced quality
item? Had that been the case however, my Acer laptop would never have restored properly
as it has done 3 times so far. I lost no files or functionality until my third restore in
which the files were virus corrupted. My default Acer programs restored as well as my
operating system.
I have been quite happy with every Acer product I have ever purchased from you including
the one I am using right now to type this email. ALL of my major PC based appliances are
Acer including my LCD monitors. I have a 20 inch standard width monitor which has never
failed me since I purchased it 6 years ago. I would love to have one of the restore CD’s
since my backup has been scratched, but I wouldn’t even think of suing you for one.
