Know the Steps to Check Visa Status Online
According to the Indonesian Immigration Authority, the only way to apply for a visa is through the official e-visa website for Indonesia. Applicants are required to state their country of origin and their purpose of visit, based upon which the relevant visa type will be awarded.
Once the registration process is completed, applicants are required to pay the visa fee, which will depend on the type of visa. After successful approval, a download option for the applied visa will be communicated via email. Payment options include debit or credit cards (MasterCard, Visa, or JCB). - On the landing page, proceed to click on “Retrieve e-Voa”.

- The online system will search for a match with its backend database, and once that is found, your e-visa application status will be shown on your screen.

Multiple-Entry Visa: Applicants who are looking to enter Indonesia for official government, commercial, or business activities must apply for a multiple-entry visa. Family visits are also included in this type of visa. Keep in mind that the validity may range from six months to a maximum of two years, and authorization from the Indonesian Directorate General of Immigration will be required before obtaining this type of visa.
Business Visa: Indonesian business visas can have multiple entries and are naturally issued with a validity of up to one year. By using this type of visa, travelers who are looking for business opportunities can enter the country multiple times within the usual validity period and stay up to a maximum of 60 days cumulatively. Using a business visa, individuals can attend training or meetings, perform business negotiations, and carry out other business-related activities. However, applicants are not allowed to take up actual employment in Indonesia using this visa, meaning that no Indonesian organization can pay a salary to a business visa holder.
Limited Stay Visa: Otherwise referred to as a “long-stay visa,” individuals who are looking to study, work, retire, or join a family member in Indonesia should apply for such a visa. Limited-stay visas can be of the following types: Indonesian Student Visa, Indonesian Work Visa, Indonesian Retirement Visa, and Indonesian Digital Nomad Visa. Additionally, limited-stay visas must be applied for through an Indonesian guarantor or sponsor, such as a family member living in Indonesia or your employer.
