I-PASS is a convenient, secure, and cost-effective system to pay for tolls on Illinois highways and expressways. Created and managed by the Illinois Tollway, I-PASS makes it easier for commuters to smoothly traverse Illinois highways without having to worry about waiting in line at toll booths or scrambling to find cash.

With the help of integrated sensors (also known as transponders) by the side of the road, vehicle owners can simply drive up and have their tolls automatically charged without any delay. I-PASS holders can also manage their accounts online, view transaction histories, check balances, and more. As a result, the convenience and effectiveness of using I-PASS make it an easy choice for anyone looking to navigate Illinois toll booths quickly and securely.

Some of the major benefits of using I-PASS include saving up to 50 per cent on Illinois Tollway tolls, avoiding fines and fees, and travelling seamlessly across the country (including on the Chicago Skyway, the Indiana Toll Road, and 17 other US states via the E-ZPass network).

What are the Requirements For New Account?

When you decide to register for I-PASS, you will have two types of accounts to choose from – personal and commercial (company). If you are signing up for a personal account, you have to provide your name, residential address, driver’s license, phone number, and email ID. On the other hand, when signing up for a commercial account, you need to provide your employer’s name, business name, primary contact information, business address, phone, and email ID.

In addition to that, you have to provide your vehicle information, such as your vehicle license plate number and the state that issued it, the license plate type, year and make of vehicle, number of axles, number of tyres, and colour of the vehicle. Additionally, it should be known that both personal and commercial (company) accounts are allowed to apply for multiple vehicle transponders through the same application.

Learn How You Can Open Account

Opening an I-PASS account online is as simple as following the below-mentioned steps.

  1. Start the account opening procedure by visiting the official website here.
  2. The primary step involves creating an I-PASS username using your email address, which will be followed by a verification process to establish your identity.
