Mate Communicate is a leading Australian telecommunications service provider. Originally established in 2015, the company offers both mobile and broadband internet services to its customers. Being an MVNO (Mobile Virtual Network Operator), Mate uses the Telstra wholesale network to offer respectable mobile plans for its customers.
One of the key benefits of using Mate as your primary mobile service provider is its higher mobile data plans that are offered at lower rates compared to other mobile service providers. So, if your monthly mobile data usage is high, then you will love the value-for-money proposition that the company currently brings to the table. Additionally, since Mate uses Telstra’s network foundation, users are also poised to enjoy a faster 5G network across Australia. However, do keep in mind that 5G availability across the country can be limited due to a systematic roll-out process.
Having said that, Mate’s mobile service is not perfect, as several improvements are still required. For starters, users do not get access to international roaming facilities on the network. So, even though the company supports free international calls and texts to 15 different countries around the globe, you will not be able to take your mobile plan overseas (outside of Australian borders), thereby making the whole experience not only a costly affair but also problematic.
In addition to that, Mate’s wireless mobile service coverage is not that robust across the rural and regional areas of Australia. So, even though you have coverage across major cities, reliability can be a problem in distant corners of the country, for which you may need to use an alternate mobile service provider. So, if any of the above mentioned issues have been bothering you for some time and you were looking for the ideal time to make a switch to a better mobile telecom operator, then the moment has finally arrived to make your decision count.
What are Mate’s Cancellation Terms
Before you put forward your cancellation request for your Mate mobile number, you must know that all Mate plans (including mobile and internet) are charged on a month-by-month basis. This means that you are not bound by any contract and are billed on a recurring monthly basis until and unless you communicate your need for service cancellation. This is why proper communication is required for the cancellation of Mate services.
Additionally, it should be known that the company does not require a notice period to process your cancellation request. This is because your bill cycle date will be the date on which your invoice will be generated. Thus, if your service stays active on the bill cycle date, then you have to pay the full month’s plan fee, regardless of whether you decide to continue using the services. So to avoid such a scenario, it is suggested that you put in the cancellation request before the start of your next bill cycle.
