It is believed that it took over $65 billion to complete this ambitious project. It opened its first doors to the public in October of 2016, and spreads across approximately 150 acres of land. So let’s fill you in with some of the most fascinating features of this amazing wonderland!

Highlights of the Theme Park

Legoland Dubai is a complete family entertainment park replete with joy rides, water rides, food court, sea-life aquarium, racing toy car section, lego shopping plaza, and more. It is thrilling for children to alternate between trying their motor skills driving around on remote-controlled cars, playing the fireman spraying water through dummy fire hydrants, taking enjoyable boat rides, spinning on merry-go-round helicopters, taking a dip in the swim pool and trying their building skills on toy lego blocks.

Legoland Dubai is one of the themed family and kids park that is located inside Dubai Parks and Resorts. It is a full-fledged entertainment park meant for children between 2 and 12 years of age. The entire layout of the park is made of lego bricks and toys. You get maps at the entrance to help guide you inside the park.

The entire park is divided into several sections that are named as – Factory, Lego City, Imagination, Kingdoms, Adventure, and Miniland. The Lego Factory has inscriptions on its walls that give the uninitiated a lowdown on the lego history and how it shaped up over the years. They have a dedicated room that showcases the entire process of manufacturing the lego bricks and putting them into a pattern; the raw materials used during the process; and the surprise element is that the kids can expect fresh lego bricks from the staff on their exit. You can click memorable pictures with your entire family at their ‘Meet and Greet’ section with lego characters.

The Miniland features – collection of landmark buildings and architecture of Dubai and other world-famous places that are represented by lego blocks. These include the Burj Khalifa, Dubai Creek, Dubai Marina, the tallest skyscrapers of the city, Dubai Airport, Dubai Skyline, Dubai Metro, the Mall of Emirates, the Dubai Desert, Abu Dhabi, the Taj Mahal of India, Kuwait, Hanging Gardens of Babylon in Iraq, Egypt, etc. It has activity areas for very young children who can be left there to play.

Kingdoms comes with many interesting rides. However, your child’s height should be at least 105 centimeters to take these free rides. The rides include the Flying Machine, Dragon Ride (roller coaster ride) meant for adults and older kids, mini train ride and Power Towers, a separate play area for kids. Adventure has a laser light shooting area for kids, lego pool for toy building, Lost Kingdom Adventure, Beetle Bounce, Pharaoh’s Revenge, Submarine Adventure that lets you experience the thrill of underwater activity of marine creatures (surprise element: lego fishes), Wave Racers, mini aquarium, etc.

As for Lego City, the rides you will find here are the Boating School, the Driving School, the City Airport, Rescue Academy (where children need to be escorted by adults for the activity), Sea Port, and Police Headquarters. Imagination has the Build and Test section, Duplo Valley, Duplo Express, Kid Power Towers, the Master Builder Academy, Lego 4D Studios and Lego Technic Twister. They have lovely live performances at the exit which makes you yearn to return soon to the park again.

Timings and Tickets

The family park, which is especially designed for children between the age group of 2 to 12, is open between 10:00 and 18:00 hours Mondays through Thursdays. However, try to tweak your plans to visit the park over the weekend because they have extended timings from Friday to Sunday, i.e. they are open between 10:00am to 19:00pm.

You can avail of a 10% discount on online tickets. If your kid is under three years, you can produce a valid document to prove their age and avail a free entry for them to the park. For children above three years and for adults, the ticket price ranges anywhere between 240 to 330 AED (United Arab Emirates Dirham) for one-day single park ticket. Legoland Dubai is located on Dubai’s Sheikh Zayed road. It is one of the amusement parks inside Dubai Parks and Resorts. This famous address needs no introduction or landmarks to identify as the vicinity is dotted with many other well-known tourist attractions.

The journey from Dubai to Legoland Dubai is approximately 2 and a half hours across 50 kilometers (road distance). You can avail of the Roads and Transport Authority buses, taxi, or metro services. The costs will differ with each mode of transport. Alternatively, you can drive there if you are a local resident.
