About Femina
Femina is a pioneer in women’s magazine in India. It is owned by the Worldwide Media which was a joint undertaking of Times Of India group and BBC Worldwide, consequently in October 2011 it became a subsidiary of Bennett Coleman Company Limited (BCCL). Femina is published fortnightly while its first edition came out in July 1959.
It is a lifestyle magazine for women with articles ranging from entertainment to health. Femina has been able to keep pace with the modern women giving them a reading experience that they deserve. Its routine columns deal with fashion, beauty, decor, food, travel, celebrity interviews, health, relationships and stories that one can relate to. Femina has been a part of household magazine tables for long and it is there to stay. The flexibility in its content sets it apart from the other. It puts forward a big picture of Indian women, their challenges and achievements.
In this world of rat race, complicated emotions linked with complex relationships get even more hap hazardous. Femina in such situations is a true companion to resolve issues with the help of expert advice. Scientific facts explaining human emotions and inspiring stories help modern day women lead a better life. Entertainment- which constitutes of famous celebrity gossips to new hangout places- is the very colour of the magazine.
Femina Hindi and Femina Tamil were also launched in 2008 and 2011 respectively, to cater to the needs of a wider readership. The magazine was designed to meet the preferences of the new readers while keeping popular features from the English counterpart compact. This is an applauded step keeping in mind the diverse nature of Indian population. In spite of coming across varied obstacles women across the country share a common desire to excel in every field of work and family. Femina touches upon this fact very conveniently.
Femina has sponsored the Femina Miss India Beauty Pageant since 1964. This prestigious contest selects representatives from India to the Miss Universe, Miss World and Miss International beauty pageants. Femina also sponsored the Femina Look Of The Year contest from 1994 to 1999. This national competition selected a contestant to represent India in the Elite Model Contest. Indeed anything that celebrates Indian beauty is an inseparable part of Femina.
Over a long period of 50 years Femina has become a part and parcel of the life of women in India. It has expanded itself as more than a lifestyle and relationship magazine.
It saddens me that information in the magazine is false. In one of your editions I came across some earrings by Adawna which claimed to be worth 28920 and had sapphires and rubies, made of gold too and when i visited the website, I find out that it’s made of silver and no precious stone has been used in the making. It’s awful how subscribers are being misled by you. I hope you take corrective action soon and not give misleading information to people
We registered for Femina Magazines on 20/07/2015. Form No. KOL 126427 through the vendor Dipak Maitry (9836133296). Since then we have only received three copies that too after constantly calling him and asking for it. Since then now he has stopped picking up calls and there is no sign of the remaining issues. A very unpleasant experience with Times Group is not at all a new encounter. We feel regretful that we invested in trusting you once again, for the last time perhaps. Your customer relationship numbers are equally hopeless ( 033 39898090) from the official website (http://mags.timesgroup.com/magazines/contactus.html) which kept us waiting for almost 35 minutes saying that the executives were busy. It is apparent that there is no executive on the other side, just a number to keep th customer waiting till he disconnects after frustration. It seems that we haven’t paid and you are giving us the magazines in free. The way you expect the consumer to beg for the issues to reach there place (let alone expecting them on time, we don’t even expect that from a group with such a dysfunctional distribution network. ) We would expect resolution of this issue speedily, through either the proper issue of the magazines or cancellation of the subscription and pro rata refund of money. I expect we receive a reply to this message, else we will have to highlight this on sundry social networks and Consumer Court out of sheer loathing for such destasteful experiences.
