About Warsaw Metro
Warsaw Metro (Metro Warszawskie) began operations in the year 1995. It is a rapid transit system serving Warsaw, Poland. Currently, it operates 2 lines connecting to 27 stations. Annually, the metro serves more than 150 million passengers. Operated by the City of Warsaw, the metro operates from 5am to midnight. The lines consist of M1 and M2. There is a third line (M3) in planning.
As for tickets, you have ‘time tickets’, single journey tickets, short term tickets, 1 day tickets, weekly tickets and monthly tickets. For short journeys, use the 20 minute tickets that offer unlimited number of journeys for a period not exceeding 20 minutes. For unlimited travel for an entire day, use the one day tickets.ย With the Warsaw City Card, commuters can store multiple fares and even use on different modes of transport.
