About Vienna U-Bahn
Vienna U-Bahn is one of the two rapid transit systems in Austria. Opened in the year 1976, the transit is operated by Wiener Linien, which is responsible for 140 underground, tram and bus lines. The services are used by over 2.5 million commuters each day.
With 5 lines, U-Bahn connects to more than 100 stations. The U-Bahn lines consist of U1 (Leopoldau – Reumannplatz), U2 (Karlsplatz – Seestadt), U3 (Ottakring – Simmering), U4 (Hütteldorf – Heiligenstadt) and U6 (Floridsdorf – Siebenhirten). As for fares, there are Single tickets, 1 Day/2 Day and Weekly Passes. There are also Monthly and Annual Passes offering discounted fares. Tourists can use the Vienna Card that is valid for all public transport services in Vienna. There is also the Easy CityPass and Queer CityPass for accessing museums, theaters and other prime areas.
Tickets can be purchased at manned stations, through vending machines or by accessing the website. Internet users can purchase tickets online using major debit/credit cards. Tickets can be received on smartphone or email. Commuters can print same and carry with them for travel. Use the Trip Planner on the website to plan your journey or see metro schedules. For more information or queries on tickets, payment, refund, cancellation, parking, lost and found items, or others, reach the Hong Vienna U-Bahn customer service.
