About United States Air Force
The United States Air Force (USAF) is a modern armed forces service founded in 1907. Initially operating as part of United States Army, USAF now functions independently and is currently the largest and most advanced air force. The force is headquartered at Arlington County, Virginia, US. It boasts of 318,000 active personnel, 70,000 Air Force Reserve personnel and 106,000 Air National Guard personnel. Responsible to the Department of Defense, the U.S. Air Force monitors and engages in warfare in air and space.
