About Taman Safari Indonesia
Taman Safari is a popular tourist destination in Indonesia. One of the first safari parks, it is located in Cibeureum village, Cisarua. The wildlife conservation park was opened in the year 1990. Located along the Jakarta-Bandung route, Taman Safari has a zoo, amusement park, artificial lake, waterfall and tennis court. The 35-hectare park is home to anoas, rhinos, giraffes, white tigers and European, American and Asian bears.
The safari parks are managed by folks at Taman Safari Indonesia (TSI). The first park was established in 1986. The Taman Safari Indonesia Cisarua, Bogor, was the first wildlife conservation and recreation park in Indonesia. Currently, it is reported to be spread out across 168 hectares. There are plenty of recreational activities offered, including night safari and trekking. The second is the Taman Safari Indonesia II Prigen that was established in 1997. It is spread across 350 hectares and is the largest safari park in Indonesia. Then came the Bali Safari & Marine Park established in Gianyar, Bali, in 2007. In 2010, TSI also established the Batang Dolphins Center, a research and conservation center.
Free safari buses are provided for tours within Taman Safari I, II and III. There are also animal shows and acrobatic shows and magic shows at the Safari Theater. Visitors to the safari park have plenty of accommodation options to choose from. They include Safari Lodge, Safari Caravan, Bungalow and Rumah Pohon. As for reaching the venue, it takes about 3 to 5 hours from Bandung to Taman Safari. If coming from Jakarta, you need to take a bus to Bogor/Bandung via Puncak road, and get off at the Safari Junction.
