Sheikh Faisal Bin Qassim Al Thani Museum is a popular museum in Qatar that was established in the year 1998. Located in the Grand Qatari Fort, the museum boasts of magnificent exteriors, rare collections and beautiful art. The museum was selected by the Ministry of Art, Culture and Heritage as one of Qatar’s cultural landmarks. The museum was created on the initiative of Sheikh Faisal Bin Qassim Al Thani.
Some of the major collections you can find here include Islamic Art, Qatar Heritage, Vehicles and Coins & Currency. In total there are more than 15,000 pieces spanning four continents. Under each section, you have a variety of other collections. On the website, you can get a glimpse of the collections you can find at the museum. You have fossils, Islamic scriptures, vintage cars, rare coins, armory and Islamic textiles, to name a few. The museum is open the entire week. From Sunday to Thursday, it is open from 9am to 4.30pm.
