About Ruter
Ruter is a public transportation provider serving Oslo and Akershus in Norway. Jointly owned by the Oslo Municipality and Akershus County Municipality, Ruter began operations in 2008 and maintains its headquarters at the capital Oslo. It manages the entire public transport in the areas and coordinate, plans and arranges passenger transport under subsidiary company Konsentra AS.

The company works with a number of reliable operators. Ruter does not operate any buses, trams, ferries or Metros. The Metro and the Oslo tram are permanent contract partners. Metro is operated by Sporveien T-bane and tram by Sporveien Trikk. The ferry is operated by Oslo-Fergene AS and Norled AS. The buses are operated by Nobina AS, Norgesbuss AS, Unibuss AS and Nettbuss.

Know the buses and schedule by using the search on the homepage. You can enter stop, address or area for results. Know any changes or delays to Ruter’s services under the Service Disruptions section. Tickets are valid for Ruter’s Metro, trams, buses and ferries. The rates vary for adults, children, students and seniors. Single tickets apply for one journey with transfers. There are differences in rates when there are more zones as well.

Tickets can be purchased at ticket offices, via kiosks, service pints and on board the bus and ferry. Also, buy tickets on your mobile by downloading the RuterBillett app. The easiest way to travel would however be with the travelcard on which you can top up with tickets or pay-as-you-go credit. The travelcards can be purchased at kiosks, and at customer centre and service points. If going for tickets and affordable options, you can look for 24-hour ticket, 7-day ticket, 30-day ticket, annual ticket and the Rufus ticket. The website has a FAQ section answering questions on wheelchair, baggage, and travel with children or pets.ย For more information or queries on tickets, payment, cancellation, refund, career, or others, reach the Ruter support.
