Unsure if any 1 of the members within the league does try to explain to me regarding why lots of ball games do start much later than the actual start time. I did notice that there’s been lots of moments where several ball games did start 20 to 20+ minutes later than the actual start time. Both regular season games and postseason games. Doesnt matter whether these ball games are televised on TNT, ESPN or ABC
For example, the games that were played 3 days ago:
Milwaukee vs Miami
This ball game was supposed to start @ 7:30pm, ET. ( on TNT )
However, I did notice that this ball game did start 20+ minutes l8er than the original start time.
Same with Denver vs Portland and yesterday’s game: Atlanta vs New York. Is this due to the tv commercials? Is there some kind of negotiation and/or agreement going on between the organizers of national tv?
Perhaps this is not the correct avenue for my comments. I just wanted to share my perspective with the NBA. I have been a lifelong fan of the Indiana Pacers, the NBA, and basketball in general. It has always been something that brought people together from all walks of life. It is like that common denominator that unites so many people.
However, times have changed. The USA that we live in today is becoming more and more volatile and divided. I understand that everybody wants to stand up for what they believe and are beginning to use every avenue available to do so. I personally get drained by fighting the political fight every single day. News networks, social media, politicians, and numerous companies have now drawn a line in the sand forcing everyone to stand on one side or the other. I hate to see that the NBA is beginning to do the same thing. The entity that was so great at bringing people together is now becoming the culprit of tearing people apart. Can we just be a fan of basketball, a fan of our team? Do we have to begin choosing sides because we are bringing politics into the game? Can the NBA just be an escape from the nonsense and set an example of what it looks like to come together? Players are now boycotting games, feeling obligated to share their opinions, political views, etc. I understand why, even agree with them on some things, but when I get tired of the same on news networks, social media, and all else, I simply log off or change the channel. If players continue to want to boycott games for this reason or that, make a political stance on every issue we face in America, I will sadly be changing the channel and never tuning back in. Not necessarily because I disagree, but because I just want to escape all that. I just want to watch basketball. I just want to stand next to people and cheer for a common goal, with politics as the last thing on our mind.
