About Milan Metro
Milan Metro began operations in the year 1964. It operates 4 lines that connect to over 110 stations across Milan, Italy. Operated by Azienda Trasporti Milanesi (ATM), the metro serves more than 1.2 million commuters each day. The Lines consist of M1 (Sesto FS, Rho Fierailano, Bisceglie), M2 (Assago Milanofiori Forum, Abbiategrasso, Cologno Nord, Gessate), M3 (Comasina, San Donato) and M5 (San Siro Stadio, Bignami).
As for fares, commuters have travel cards or single fare tickets. The Urban Travel Card can be used in the entire ATM network, at urban rail lines of Trenord and the ‘Passante ferroviario’ (Urban Railway Network). The range of travel cards offered include weekly, monthly, annual, and discounted special cards for students and senior citizens.
The travel cards are valid for unlimited travel for the specified period. The reloadable cards can be purchased at manned stations, authorised outlets and even online on the website. The cards are not transferable. If you don’t frequently use the public transport, there are Urban Tickets, 10 Journey Tickets, One Day Tickets, Two Day Tickets, among others.
Use the Journey Planner on the website to know schedule, fares and stations. You can also get real time information of operating trains on the website as well as the official smartphone app.ย For more information or queries on tickets, payment, refund, parking, lost and found items, or others, reach the Milanย Metro customer service.
