About Metrorail
metrorail customer serviceMetrorail is a rapid transit system serving Miami-Dade County, Florida, transporting more than 80,000 commuters each day. It began operations in the year 1984 and is managed by Miami-Dade Transit (MDT). Metrorail operates on 2 lines (Green Line and Orange Line), connecting to about 23 stations. The system currently uses 136 train cars. Metrorail begins services at 5am to 12 midnight. Parking is available at most stations, seven days a week. The rates vary for Daily Parking and Monthly Parking.

Metrorail’s network of stations include Palmetto, Okeechobee, Hialeah, Tri-Rail, Northside, Dr Martin Luther King Jr Plaza, Brownsville, Miami International Airport, Earlington Heights, Allapattah, Santa Clara, Civic Center, Culmer, Historic Overtown, Government Center, Brickell, Vizcaya, Coconut Grove, Douglas Road, University, South Miami, Dadeland North and Dadeland South. Those heading to Miami International Airport can use the Orange Line Metrorail to travel with less hassles.

To ride Metrorail, commuters need to purchase an EASY Ticket or EASY Card at manned stations or through vending machines. Discounted fares are available for students, senior citizens and people with disabilities. Frequent travellers can purchase the EASY Card to load multiple fares, including the 1-Day, 7-Day and 1-Month Pass.

If you would like order an EASY Card online, Metrorail has a special store with a range of products. On the ‘Transit Store’, visitors can purchase Full Fare Easy Card, Discount Easy Card, STS Easy Card, among others. Payment for cards can be made using Visa, MasterCard or American Express. Registered members on Transit Store can also track their usage on the activated card. Note that all sales are final on the website and refunds are not issued for unused trips.
