About Meralco
Meralco is a Filipino power distributor founded as La Electricista in 1903. Also operating as Manila Electric Company, the company is the main power distributor in Metro Manila. The electric distribution utility company serves customers in 36 cities and 75 municipalities in Philippines. Currently it serves more than 6.5 million customers. Meralco, which is short for Manila Electric Railroad and Light Company, offers franchise that covers Bulacan, Rizal, Laguna, NCR, Cavite, Quezon and Batangas. Meralco caters to both individuals and businesses. If you want to apply for a new connection, you can visit nearest Meralco office or do same online. You can sign up for an account to apply for electric service.

The Meralco Prepaid Electricity Service, known as Kuryente Load (KLoad), allows users to monitor their electricity usage, with notifications sent via SMS for low load reminder, reload confirmation or reconnection alerts. You can reload whenever you need to, giving flexibility in electricity spend. The Meralco Prepaid Electricity load does not have an expiration date and hence all unused load will remain in account. If your account has zero load, it will be disconnected. After 90 days of non-usage, your account will be finally terminated. Customers can reload their prepaid electricity account at Bayad Center Outlets, popular department stores, at Generika drugstore, 7-11 and even online on the website. Prepaid electricity service is currently available in Manila, Mandaluyong, Pasig, Makati, parts of Rizal, Cavite, Bulacan and Metro Manila.

Meralco users can sign in to their account to start an electric service, reactivate an electric service, modify and even stop service. If your service has been disconnected for less than a year, just visit any Meralco business center and present one valid government ID. Also sign in to your account to view bills and notifications. You can pay your bills at any of of the Meralco offices or even online using credit card or net banking. Also, you can pay bills on the go using smartphone app and even through ATM machines. And if you want to report a power outage, on the website you can specify the location of your outage or incident and provide additional information. Visit the Help & Support section of the website to read the frequently asked questions and get assistance on account or payment. There are a number of resources that cover a wide range of topics. If you are not able to understand your bill, there is a guide online that helps you understand the generation charge, transmission charge, meter reading or others.
