About Medicaid New Jersey
Medicaid’s health program in New Jersey is monitored by the Division of Medical Assistance and Health Services (DMAHS). With Medical Assistance Customer Centers (MACCs) throughout the state, the agency serves more than 1,000,000 people, many being needy parents with dependant children, kids under foster care, pregnant women and disabled people.
Those looking to enroll for the New Jersey Medicaid must be a resident of the state, a US citizen and meet the standards of household income. Through Medicaid, one can get access to hospital services, doctor visits, prescriptions, nursing home care and other health care needs. Children under 18 may be eligible for Medicaid if their family’s total income before taxes is at or below 350% of the Federal Poverty Level. Pregnant women whose family income is below 200% of the Federal Poverty Level (FPL) can also enroll for Medicaid program. A child born to an eligible mother can receive the Medicaid benefits for one year.
