M Chinnaswamy Stadium was established in the year 1969. Located in the heart of Bangalore, the stadium boasts of a seating capacity of 50,000 and modern facilities. Initially named as KSCA stadium, it later was rechristened as M Chinnaswamy Stadium, in honor of former BCCI President Mangalam Chinnaswamy. The ground, owned by the Government of Karnataka and managed by the Karnataka State Cricket Association, is home to the state’s cricket team and IPL’s Royal Challengers Bangalore.

The stadium has hosted several World Cup matches till date. To allow more fans during matches, the KSCA plans to increase the seating capacity to 70,000. The stadium currently boasts of a modern players dressing room, media centre and a club house. Pavilion End and BEML End are the two end names.
